Anything that is good can be made better

Other than that, I think the mods are very dependent on what you use the car for. Driving hard? Springs/coilovers, brake upgrades, and an oil cooler are all necessary.

I think the Z is a great car to mod since it already has a lot of character, so it's easy to justify molding that to how you like it.

:iagree:

I've added a few mods...

Bone stock, at the moment....still prioritizing the "wish list" for mods....not much interested in "show" mods....and the "go" mods decisions really hinge on whether or not I want to take the FI route on a brand new motor and I honestly haven't made up my mind on that point yet.

Drove a beater commuter for over 10 years with no mods... A stock 4-banger truck just has no mod appeal to me. Great reliability, no fun.

For a performance car it's always easy to feel like you want a little more.

Always trolling the forums to see what people are doing. Love the idea of the twin turbos. Now that would change the car massively! Little over the top for me as a DD at this point. Maybe someday...

$$$$ issue for me at the moment.

But if i did mod, one of the first things I would do is make those sport package wheels look proper by lowering the car and aligning them with the fenders. I don't like the tucked in look that much.

Look-wise that's really the only thing i'd improve.
I don't like how you nosy the cabin is but i don't think i'd go with dynamat. Something that's far more annoying to me is how easily the car becomes unsettled on bumpy roads. I feel like i can't even begin pushing the car even on straights with out risking my life.
I wonder if good coilovers would solve this.
Basic boltons would be nice. And why... why did i have to listen to this:
Z34 Saclam Exhaust Sound Clip - YouTube

I mean, i can't afford it, and it's probably the worst bang for the buck mod you can do performance-wise, but i still want one!

+1 for mod.

I picked it up used for $950 shipped. You can find them used here in the forums all the time. They're very well made. Fast Intentions is the best of the best when it comes to exhaust options for the 370.

A new one is gonna set you back a lot more. They start at about $1100 plus shipping. It's worth every penny though.

The Z is definitely a car that you can mod, but don't need to go over the top on.

I agree, stock exhaust note is shameful, stock G37's and G35's sounded more aggressive. The wheel gap hurts my eyes.

I think Exhaust, Drop and Spacers can leave you looking more aggressive but still close to stock. I've obviously done more, but if I stopped there, I'd be ok with it (well not really lol)

The car after the mods (specially after the RJM clutch pedal) is like a totally diff car. All the mods I've done made is really nice.

I agree with the above comment regarding the bumpy roads however lowering my Z on Swift springs helped that a lot, and uneven surfaces are better followed with whiteline sway-bars.

I'm trying to find a good price for Koni Yellow shocks right now, so far KamiSpeed seems to be the best deal. I'm hoping that will improve handling even more before I put a better wheels & tires combo on for the complete package.

The FI exhaust was the most expensive mod and rightfully so, it makes the car feel so ******* awesome... :)

If anyone can drop me a good line for the Koni Yellows price, please do ;)

#1 Sound System-worst in the business
#2 ClearBra. Paint worst in the business
#4 Exhaust- Stock Note is borderline embarrassing for a sports car, quieter than a 350z..

Tires is up to you, a nice set of aftermarket tires really bring the car to life.

#2 is dependent on car. My 09 paint sucked. My 11 is chip proof thus far. Just mild scratches in the clear on the front bumper. I fix that with scratch 2.0. I've driven over 130mph in my car as well.

It is hard for me not to mod any vehicle. Every time I get a new one I say that I am not, but a few months down the road the bug bites:tup:

I wonder if there is anyone here who has a complete stock Z and has kept it like that for more than 2-3 years like that. I bet there are. :rofl2:
