Gas Mileage

Had My Z for 2 weeks now....city/highway driving

1st week 388 miles...15 gallons....25 mpg
2nd week 375 miles...14 gallons....26 mpg

These were hand calculated and Note I have not been putting my foot in it...well only a few times.....

Masa 10-01-2012 11:59 AM

Seems about right, should get better as you pack on the miles.

Right now I am getting 19mpg in the city and I can 29mpg on the highway if i keep it ~75mph.

370Z JT 10-01-2012 12:01 PM

15-17 MPG, all city driving.

370Z Purist 10-01-2012 12:05 PM

I'm getting an average of 21, by the computer's record. For 75% city driving, I think I'm doing OK.

Pappy1 10-01-2012 12:18 PM

Not bad

Yea I am Happy wit it so far...like you said it will get better once I get some more miles on it.....

nmjaxx9 10-01-2012 12:19 PM

So true............LOL

kfull 10-01-2012 12:33 PM

I do about 70% highway and get 23mpg.

enkei2k 10-01-2012 12:40 PM

computer is showing that I'm getting something like 11.5 MPG (or was it 11.5 MPH?). Regardless, it's a low number. Just this past weekend, I drove maybe 20 miles, and it went down 3 dots. 100% city.

Funny thing is, it's been the same every since I took delivery of the car. I have never reset the thing before.

This

EndyKwon 10-01-2012 01:21 PM

17.6 is the average that's read on my dash. I've been wondering:
Keeping the car in higher gear = Lower revs = higher gas mileage?

RandyD 10-01-2012 01:26 PM

lifetime average - 21.8
lots of hard driving :)

my2004Z 10-01-2012 01:27 PM

18.1 mpg for me. Mostly city driving.

LakeShow 10-01-2012 01:32 PM

I didn't buy the car for MPGs

Pappy1 10-01-2012 01:55 PM

MPG's

Did not buy mine for the MPG's either....but sure in the heck is better then the F-150 4x4 I came out of...I just notice my MPG's because this is My daily driver...Sad part is I will be packing the miles on her....

EndyKwon 10-01-2012 02:00 PM

Well, yeah nobody bought this car for the MPG. Yet it still crosses my mind nowadays considering gas prices. I'll be like, "Since, I'm not in the mood for having fun at the moment, lets try a different way of having fun. Seeing if I can maximize my gas efficiency."

I did buy the car for MPGs!

& how sexy it is, and the speed, and the interior, and the oh...yeah back to the point.

I drive 90% highway and i never get lower then 26mpg..
I've done 32mpg for long distances before. Usually i cruise at 75-80mph and get 28-29mpg. I think i got better MPG with my intakes in

Pappy1 10-01-2012 02:08 PM

4.00

4.00 for 93 premium Gas here....55.00 to fill up today...would have been a 100.00 for my truck at Reg. 89 grade

Better gas mileage....
faster.....
Looks Better....
part of a Classic family

100% win all around......:driving:

That's good to hear. 26-28 is MAX what I can get out of my SRT it seems.

How often are you filling up?

Wow twice. I've never seen this myself, but I do not blame the car. Nice to know it could do what the sticker said at time of purchase.

nmjaxx9 10-01-2012 07:57 PM

I just filled up for $76. Yup no more highway pulls night driving for me. :rofl2:

mayday813 10-01-2012 09:54 PM

Vacation from Des Moines, IA to Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, Wilmington, NC, and some time in Columbus, OH and back to DSM. Total mileage 2,950 and averaged 27.1 mpg for the total trip. The car was fully loaded with suitcases and passenger. Lots of driving during the two weeks. I was impressed with the performance and gas mileage. I only take vacations when the gas prices approach or exceed $4/gal.!

I drive 60-80 miles everyday. I get about 500-550miles on each tank..
So I find myself filling up every week. Sometimes ill just throw $20 in and fill it up a couple days after that with another $20 and so on...

81DAWG 10-04-2012 12:43 PM

I have had my 2013 for 2 weeks. I am getting 23 combined city/highway

Funny, I do not get that kind of mileage when I drive 75 around town. :bowrofl:

Pappy1 10-04-2012 07:30 PM

yesterday the low fuel warning came on so i filled it up for $75 but that didn't faze me since, this was like the 3rd fill up for this car for this year. Definitely not a daily driver :-)

junior_jam 10-04-2012 08:47 PM

25 average, but my daily drive is

1. <0.5 mile to highway
2. 33 miles at 70 mph
3. <0.5 mile to work

If I play around with my gas mileagometer while on the highway, it seems to be close to:

1. 60 mph: 32 mpg
2. 70 mph: 29 mpg

Not bad!

mick 10-04-2012 11:47 PM

i leased a Beetle for DD.
i thought it was a good idea at the time :-O
when my lease is up next year, I plan to get a muscle car (probably a Mustang 5.0) for DD

i used to buy only German cars. before I got the Nissan, when our family got together, the parking area would look like a Mercedes-Benz dealer's lot :-O

You know on youtube, there's a video on the Lamborghini Countach and the reporter said before one dies, he should own/drive a car with 12-cylinder engine.
A Lamborghini 12 cylinder engine is out of my budget but American car with V-8 engine producing over 400 HP is within it. So I figure why not :)

mick 10-05-2012 12:28 AM

my last German car before I switched to Nissan.
At the time, the dealer told me i had the only C320SS with a manual transmission in northern California :-O.
I special ordered it from the factory.
When i think about this car, i remember how slow it was compared to the 370z :)

:icon17: Thats a great way to think of your previous car :rofl2:

Mercedes looks good though.

NickTurnon 10-05-2012 10:35 AM

I think your Benz is a beautiful car. But it just looks plain to me..

No offense. Im sure it cost you double or triple what the Z did.

But anyways, i just feel like I could never drive a benz. Maybe a c63 !

yep, I agree, it's very conservative looking.
i like the look of the 370z much better
but of course one is a sedan and the other is a sports car
so they can't really be compared to each other, styling wise :)

they cost about the same but the Mercedes was way more
expensive to maintain. Every time it went in for service
the minimum charge was over $200.

Near the end, One side of the bi-xenon lights
went out and they charged me $1,500 to fix it.

I believe it got about the same gas mileage as the 370z, maybe a little bit better in the city :)
