I always bump my high beams when passing another Z if I am in my car. You will normally get a response like a FLASH or wave back from either a long time Z owner, multiple generation Z owner or someone who has been in the community for a long time.

I got a lot more waves in my 77 280z. But I always try to wave on the highway. I get waves back from the sport drivers, less from the touring and base crowd. I think you are right, this car has appeal to more than just enthusiasts. I get the feeling that some people just don't realize what a cool, historied car they are driving.

More mods=>more chance of a waveback.

It might be silly, but I don't bump my lights because I hear those bulbs don't like coming on and off alot.

This is 100% true in many cases. The history of the Z is just as interesting and colorful as any of that of a Ferrari or Porsche in my opinion. The history and car culture associated with the Z is why I work here at Z1 and why a Z was my first car....and why I now own 4 and always looking for more!

I thought they were supposed to tell you that there is a z greeting when you bought the car.

Here in Memphis there's a fairly large Z crowd, many of them enthusiasts of some level. Most around here will flash or wave, and surprisingly I get a lot of respect from the Corvette crowd.

The Hondas of course love to rev, and yesterday I had a guy in an Acura 2.5 ride my rear and slam against his rev limiter as he paced me. I'm not sure what he was doing, lol.

Mustangs of course feel the need to prove themselves, but I've had very few Camaros feel the need to "flex".

Something about those Ford guys, lol

WRXs, EVOs, are a totally different club cause people go out of their way to buy one of those. It's like when I used to drive toyota tacomas.. everyone just drove it no one ever waved. Wasnt until I bought an FJ cruiser that I would see other cruisers wave.

It just having that one off car that only a select few find really attractive. The FJ was like the fat girl at the prom with the pretty eyes.

Agree I'm 20 so I don't think the older guys like to wave...

The 370z is very rare where I'm at, I see a lot of 350z though, but when I see a 370z on the road, I give a thumbs up or a wave.

Same situation where I'm from, sti's are everywhere. Not many z's but people still don't wave, I'm assuming it's because I look young.

I do not wave at other Z owners I do the head nod or the peace sign. I usually get a peace sign or thumbs up.

I always wave to other Z owners regardless of which one they are in

Nismodean 09-22-2012 07:47 PM

I'm too good to wave, thumbs up, flash, or peace sign at others, or show my enthusiasm to the the Z culture. I'm just way too busy looking at myself in the rear view mirror. When I see another person driving a 370Z I sneer at them as if they don't belong in that car, or I just ignore them completely as if they don't exist. But I'll suck the skin off that mans taint if he drives his GTR near me.

This is what I notice from all but one 370Z owner here in Kitsap county, WHAT UP 370ZJAMES!

NissanGuy23 09-22-2012 08:16 PM

Ive never gotten any acknowlegment at all from Z owners, the one time i saw a fellow nismo i got like a pinky finger wave. Even when im side by side with a 370, i get nothing like im not there. Z people just dont do it :(
