"Fuel injection in ’86 made the Countach U.S. smog-legal for the first time since the ’70s, but the car carried ugly federal bumpers. Chrysler bought Lamborghini from interim Swiss owners in 1987 and oversaw the release of the final Lamborghini Countach, the 455-hp Anniversary Edition. With 650 built from 1988 to 90, this was the most popular, most refined, and possibly the fastest Lamborghini Countach: 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and 183 mph all out."

I don't street race but if I see a Countach I'm calling him out

Uh the point was how technology has changed. A car that was an unobtainable dream 20 years ago and now we have the same performance at a fraction of the price.... I personally think that`s pretty cool...

Actually, that Lambo is still faster than the 370z. Sorry. But even if the 0-60 is identical, the Lambo carries a MUCH better advantage: Torque and Power. In this case, if they were to stay even through 1st gear, the LP500 would pull car lengths on the 370z. At the end of the 1/4, the Lambo's going to be faster and will certainly be across the finish line first. Both cars weigh about the same.

Pretty much any LP500 or later is going to kick a 370z's @ss all over the road. The LP500 has a 5-speed so they'll lose less time in the shifting, and they all make more power.

Of course, with full bolt-ons, the Z should beat the Lambo, but I was comparing stock for stock.

Yeah. Same here. I would LOVE a '99 Roadster or a '01 6.0 Special Edition.

I hear the drive and handle like sh!t, but I wouldn't care at all. The only thing I don't like about Lambos is that they get 7/13MPG and are TERRIBLE for the environment (which I actually do care about a lot).

Am I the only one who saw the wink? He's just poking a little fun. I too find it pretty funny how vehicles once considered blazing fast would be just good today.

And all of those past and present super cars don't even come close the awesomeness of an air-cooled VW Beetle. Yeah the Beetle rules!

Here is my baby a fully restored 1970 Beetle in yukon yellow.

uhhhhhhh, I think he was making a point with joke about how far performance has come in 20 years, as well as how much car we can afford in a Z today.

The Countach still carries a high cool factor even if its so 80's. No shame even if did lose to a modern car. Its still a Lambo you know.

One of the first modern era supercars, if not the first.
