Agreed. VA has open carry, though I do have my Carry Concel permit.

Yup. I have mine too. I don't OC most of the time because most people in NOVA freak out about it.

hey everyone, I really need a place to vent my frustrations right now

So i was on my way home from the local military base after filling my tank and getting a car wash in one of those gas station car wash machines and while i was leaving the base, this ricer in a lancer evo revs his engine at me trying to get me to race on base while exiting the gate
Being the adult in this situation I decide to ignore him and let him be a ricer, well not only does that piss him off to the point of him wanting to cut me off at every chance he got, he also threw what ever the f**k drink he was drinking out of his windows and get my car dirty right after i f**cking washed it, i just finished washing my car AGAIN at my house but because its dark, idk if im going to get spots or not and ill probably have to rewash my car again tomorrow

I guess if others have something similar to share please share it, I am wondering if ricers are just as bad everywhere else or is it just the town i live in

Take down his plate and call the police.

can one of those things scratch your car?
i know they use shammies instead of cloth but i didnt think it would scratch the car, i personally have never had my car scratched by one of those things before

If it's like anything we have around here whether it be the automated car washes at a gas station or going to a place dedicated to just car washes but still use automated machines...they just attempt to detail the car afterwards. Then my answer would be yes it is scratching your car. If it is automated those shammies are scratching your car each time they slap it to knock the dirt off as its sprayed with soap/wax/etc. Something to think about is if a guy with a 4x4 went through it before you that had just went mudding. Well guess what is all over those shammies that are slapping your car? Tiny rocks and other debris he collected in the mud from the trails. I would stay far away from any of those places like the plague and only hand wash my car at my house. If you have the time and resources its the best way to go. No one is going to care more for your car than you are.

I think my only road rage moment was right after I bought my '09 Z. A kid with a WRX sedan blew by me and cut me off intentionally so close he nearly clipped my nose and then slammed on the brakes and peeled out. This happened during a fresh light rain. I skidded and barely managed to get the vehicle under control but I saw red. I didn't try to catch up but followed him to the next light at which point he flipped me off and chucked an empty plastic pepsi bottle backwards at my car (he missed). This was at a red light.

I put on my hazards, got out of the car, calmly walked up to the drivers side door as hard as I could in my dress shoes (ha ha?). Was getting ready to freak out further and then looked and it was like some 16 year old jackass with his buddy and two girls in the back seat that looked terrified. I think I yelled "get out of the car" and he took off.

Not excusing my ridiculously childish / douchy behavior but it goes to show you that you are playing nutjob roulette any time you act like a dickbag on the road.

should have took down his plates and wrote him a citizens citation while you were at it for littering on a public road (at minimum a $300 fine here in california)

I wasn't thinking straight and what I did was about a thousand times worse than what he did.

That's not the cool thing to do. It's better to vent online to a bunch of strangers. I'm sure the other driver is posting his pathetic version of the story on his car forum.

I had a guy in a 5.0 Mustang revv his engine on me everytime he sees me, in our own neighborhood douchebag guy. One time i got out of my car like "you wanna do something" tough guy stylee. He just yelled out his window i dont need to waste my time with you go hop back in your rice rocket.

So i guess the 370Z is a rice rocket to your average american muscle fanatic.

dmhenderson 09-13-2012 10:14 PM

Anything not american = rice rocket.

Only to a few of them. Just like here there are fanboys and haters on their side.

I did the same thing about 7 years ago, in my early 20's. Guy in a jeep kept getting right on my ***, I got out of my car (in front of my wife no less) and he just talked smack and chirped out. At the moment it seemed like I had no options, but I did feel like a douche afterwards.

i had a drunk lady get outa of her car one night comeing home from work. accusing me of being to close to her at a red light. i was confused alil so i sat there for a min. but once she motioned to stomp on my car or whatever i open'd the door and started to get out. u could see the fear on her face i almost lost it. and she ran back in her car real quick. u never know. risky gettin out of the car

more on topic, theres a kid with a scion tC always asking to race. he revved at me on night, i told him to get lost, he begged "cmon mane let me see how i measure up", a riced out eclipse drove by.. i pointed to it... and told him to race that.

If that were me, no words would have left my mouth, I would have simply left a permanent impression of my boot in his door then drove off.

I have never experienced anything like that...in either case I'm prepared to fight fire with fire!

I carry this iPhone 4S

EDIT:

Also Op if you're military report him! I do it all the time!

But! Pick up drivers on the other hand.. Oboy :roflpuke2:

Very much true in OC and L.A. Also, a lot of Honda-ricers tone down on their "street racing" ever since a couple really bad & deadly accidents around the area for the past 2 years.

The only ones that seems scarily aggressive on the road nowadays are Truck/SUV/Van drivers. I auto-x a ford150 and the stopping distance (even with aftermarket pro-am brakes) is still very long. I can't imagine why anyone in a 4000lb car would want to tailgate my Z. I usually do the following:

1) lightly tap my brakes to move him away.
2) Change lanes
3) If he continues, I put on my emergency blinker, count to 3, and then pull a really hard stop.
