Someone cheer me up please

Starting to feel a little down in the dumps..... But it's been a great ride and i know it will continue to be. I'm sitting right 48,000 on my 09 and it's been a great time and a blast to drive. it never gets old pushing in that little red button.

But i'm dreading hitting that 50,000 barrier. someone tell me it's just a number.
to be honest i'm a car slut i usually trade before my cars reach 50,000.
but with the 370 i haven't even thought about it. and for me that's a big deal..
my wife thinks iv'e lost it. oh well life goes on... and the best part of it will be driving my little 370........... thanks for listening just had to get that off my chest... happy driving everyone...........:driving::driving:

shadoquad 09-06-2012 09:13 PM

It's only a number, Sonic!!! Be happy, drive fast!

coltrain 09-06-2012 09:21 PM

What's your concern about hitting 50K?

Zaggeron 09-06-2012 09:26 PM

^^ his Z will enter a mid-life crisis and want to get a body kit and a carbon fiber "rug" for its roof.

ddot196 09-06-2012 09:29 PM

Lol.

w0rM 09-06-2012 09:30 PM

50k is the new 40k

Isn't 50k the break-in mileage? No reason to get rid of it if you love it.

Surprise it with some TWINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. LOL. Bet that will get you and the Z bonding in a heart beat.

Stino 09-06-2012 10:19 PM

How about keeping your Z and just buy another. (Or maybe a GTR) :)

NickTurnon 09-06-2012 11:02 PM

I had the exact same thought a little while back... then realized, I just need to drive the car until it goes out on me. 52k now and I will continue to drive it.

I love it too much...

JungleZ 09-06-2012 11:25 PM

I would only get rid of it to upgrade. Cars i would have over the Z if i could afford and upgrade would be IS-F,M3,C63,Boss 302,Z06,GTR.

11Thumper 09-07-2012 12:35 AM

At least you're enjoying it and thats the whole point!

Magic Bus 09-07-2012 02:58 AM

Sonic, at 50,000 miles.....the car will be toast and useless. I'll help you now and take it off your hands for $5K :icon17:

It's just a number, enjoy it in good health!

SuperSonic - just drive and keep smiling. Most people never own such a great machine much less spend that much time with one. :driving:

edub370 09-07-2012 07:57 AM

or u could enjoy the fact that most cars make more hp at 50,000 miles then they do at 10,000.

and here i though i was fooling myself into thinks this car is getting faster.....

geddy lee 09-07-2012 08:23 AM

I put 225 K on an 88 Honda CRX Si, 200 K on a 94 Supra, and 170 K on a 03 350 Z so 50 K is like still just a teenager

dmhenderson 09-07-2012 08:42 AM

If you maintain the car, mileage really isn't an issue as long as you're willing to replace components as they fail.

muzik212 09-07-2012 08:57 AM

I agree with the others. Its just a number, if you're maintaining the car, love it, and its still has the get up and go who cares! Its just a number.

Mt Tam I am 09-07-2012 09:23 AM

Even BMW's are still fine at 50k miles. Do not worry Sonic.

UNKNOWN_370 09-07-2012 10:24 AM

The good news... That VQ will run STRONG 250,000 miles or better!!!!

The bad news.... Your tranny will never be the same after 150,000 mi. :ugh2:

Drive it till 150k miles and sell or save for a custom built racing transmission and keep it forever .:driving:

Hope you feel better? :happydance:

Oh i maintain the car alright. I'll put a part on before the
wife's root canal....... Just kidding !!!!!

owi1kenobi 09-07-2012 02:18 PM

As soon as it hits the 50k , the engine will start to loose it's compression, the bumper will fall off, the ecu will burn into crisp, the leather will start to crack, the interior will start to smell like an old fart and the car will turn on by itself and run you over . It's a scary feeling!!

Relax enjoy your Z ;) Z at 50K is like a mature chick the older she get the better she is on the bed!

roy'sz 09-07-2012 02:47 PM

nissan does build a quality, long lasting product. If you don't have heavy mod's then the life span will last a while. Case in point a close relative of mine has 192000 out of a 350. Only the door handles and 1 thermostat have failed on that car. I would just enjoy it, mine has 35k and is a 2010.....and no problems.

axmea? 09-07-2012 11:25 PM

The car is having mid life crisis. Buy something new for it.

Thechidz 09-07-2012 11:47 PM
