I had an alcantara shift knob on my STi. I liked the feel of it, but after time, it did start to get worn alittle from all the use. If you like the stock shift knob, just remove it and have it re-upholstered with alcantara at your local upholstery shop (after removing the stock shift knob, you will most likely need to get it re-upholstered anyways....lol)
