Sure parked at a "meetup" everyone is nice, but the road is a different story. So excuse me for taking pride in a vehicle I purchased myself without anyone's help. I'm not implying that you didn't buy yours on your own, but at 24 years old, that's kinda a big deal in my eyes.

Edit: I don't literally pull alongside and laugh at people or anything. It's an inside feeling.

I don't think most people compare cars they see on the road when its another 370z. I do sometimes notice if its sport or not only so I can mention what trim when I reply to the 370z spotted thread.

Also i could have easily gotten a nismo or a 40th but honestly I really wanted the MB and did not want to do an after-market paint job (especially if the 40th) so I got what I wanted.

I also bought the 370z on my own at 24 years old as well. After i bought my house (also on my own) at 24.

I had my priorities strait and got the house first and *then* saw if I could afford a 370z as well after having the house for a few months and knowing what my total month out of pocket for everything (utilities, maintenance, etc.. was).

Just getting a 30k car at 24 doesn't mean much. I think I had my priorities in order. If I wanted to I could have easily gotten a 370z right when they came out but it would have probably delayed my house.

I only get upset when theres another Z like mine around. For instance: a few months ago I had a 2008 350z black touring ....I lived in Indianapolis at the time and there were not many of those around (same color, model, mods ect). Then I moved to Atlanta and every where I go I see 350Z especially black!!!! same mods!!! I would get pissed....SO, I upgraded to a 370z Black Roadster!!! Only one around here with that particular car and mods that I have. I have seen some black coupes here and there but thats it. Personally, I dont want something that everyone else has-but thats just me- AND thats what MODS are for right!!

So, I think I know where your going with your statement!!!!!

My comment was directed at a different post and not a general comment. As I said before, on a forum or at a meetup its a different feeling than randomly running into one on the road. When you're in your car and on the road, Only other cars and the road exist.

I didn't go on about my solid gold toilet seat. It's an in the moment on the road thing.

Maybe I should start a thread on rainbows and unicorns so people don't take my thoughts the wrong way and get offended.

LOL man, I said the same thing when I purchased my Charger in 2006. It was badass then and now its every other car I see. It's nice to not see someone else driving your car every day, or even every week. Makes you feel like you're the only one driving one.

The only time I feel like this, is when I see a V6 Camaro/Mustang, or other vehicle where the performance version is clearly the ONLY choice I could possibly make.

Worse, when someone throws an exhaust on a lesser motored version of these cars.

However, option packages on the same car? Get outa here, especially when all of them have almost identical performance.

Very good point.

I bet this is exactly how girls think when they see other girls with cheaper versions of their handbags :roflpuke2:

I bet you hit the nail on the head, guys should leave this to girls. Makes you sound like a bit ch lol

But you shouldn't ever think this way.

We will never be equal. Or be able to afford the same.

Whenever I see a z, only thing I do is try to find out who is driving it because I am curious.. (male, female, old, young, dog, cats)

The only time I feel superior is when I walk up to check out a Z in a parking lot and discover that it's equipped with an AT. :stirthepot:

I still don't understand this one. Why on a sports car?

It's a natural human emotion to be competitive. Just because the etiquette book says you should never think about this doesn't make it easy to do.

Hell, the Z sticks out like a model in a bathing suit. If you have 2 models in bathing suits next to each other(like the Z) Anyone who looks will instantly compare them naturally. So the whole populist argument of "everyone shouldn't think this way" isn't believable to me. If you don't compare your cars, you compare something else in the same way. so give me a break.
