Saw a 2013 Z on the road today....
It was a white one... and all I have to say is the pictures we have all been seeing of the new front end design do the car NO justice at all. This car looked absolutely gorgeous coming down the road. The DRL's are very noticeable and the new body lines on the front bumper that contour to the DRL's looks great.
Just had to share. I'm seriously thinking about either trading in my 2010 or buying a 2013 front bumper. Anxious to see some owners post pics on here....! |
everything always looks better in person.....

2013 looks very good particulary with sport package equipped.
i think we would all grow on them very quickly |
I saw one in Solid Red at the dealer today. Looked very good.
Salesman ran out wagging his tail, so I asked him if they were getting the new red color. He said the this was the new color because it was the 2013 car. When I told him there is another red in 2013, he started to argue with me that there was not. I told him that before he comes to talk to a potential customer, he should know his vehicles. His excuse was "We did not get the new brochure yet." I told him to look on the internet, it's only been there for 3 month. He left in a bit of a huff. I might have been a bit harsh. Anyway, the Solid Red looked good. |
thanks just when i have talked myself into keeping my 09 for one more year maybe two you post this thread................:tiphat:
|
I may have to run down to the dealership to see one in person then, because I'm not quite sure it'll grow on me at all.
Then again, I'm also disappointed I can't get the Monterrey Blue and the '12 Rays if I go with the '13 model. |

That is one of the top 5 colors ever. Big mistake. Good news makes our car more valuable and rare |

I just checked and there are midnight blue 370z in my area at Puente Hills, Nissan, Stadium nissan (orange), performance nissan (duarte) and tustin Nissan. I am thinking of going by and checking out the new midnight blue color in person. |

From what I saw on the nissan website they offer both magma and solid red.
|
so they didnt disocntinue or replace SR? nice thats good news SR ftw!
|
I went on the website and SR is not available for the NISMO..............only the Magma Red. I was sad. It would have been nice to get the Midnight Blue on the NISMO as well, but we all know how that goes!

Finally some compliments on the 13' vs. all the hating on the 13'.
|
I'll be honest, I was holding out for the 13 because of the LED dl's but once I seen it I felt like it was looking more like a 350 not a 370 and I didn't want that!

Hate is when something is better than yours and you don't like seeing someone else with it. On the contrary, I want to see the next gen nissan brothers have better and pput me up on the scoop. You got it twisted. :ugh2: |

You guys are just too picky. The car still looks great. I love the LEDs.
|
If I bought one the first thing I would do is get underneath it and disconnect the DRL's. They are silly and make the car look dated and faddish already.
Second thing I would do is rig up a switch on the console so I could turn them on like fog lamps under bad weather conditions. But the whole idea of DRL's is dorky. |

But I do thank the 13 and future 14 purchasers for the sacrifice and keeping the Z name alive. Everyone who contributes to purchasing one may may possibly be helping the next gen Z to be a better car??? For that I will give all Z owners love. |

And I loooved the thought of the LED's. I like some of the audi LED in the headlights and thought it would give it that kind of edge but it didnt, i was like :ughdance: |

And i thought we are just taking about looks here. |

Saw my first one today on the lot. Must say it did look much better in person over the pictures I have been seeing. I had a salesmen turn the car on and I didn't care for the look of the LEDs. Also there were only on as a parking light. Didn't come on with the headlights, but I'm sure there's a way to fix that.

I just don't see where a base + sport can be justifiable at $39570 msrp. To me a Z base sport at the most would be worth 38k. And that price still pushes limits. I paid 37k otd. I know these Z won't see the same kind of price breaks. Its still an awesome car, but not a compelling financial value. Like it used to be. Camry's etc go up because they keep technologically advancing every 2 years or so. The Z hasn't budged much in 5 model years. The most significant upgrades have been, oil cooler and upgraded nav screen (if u buy it). Little things like heated mirrors, in cabin filter and upgraded shocks happened in 11: all of this is simple crap for a car company. I expect more for an average of $800-900 a year increase. |

Salesperson told me the same thing before I bought the car, it's only on for parking. My reply was, "this car can see a parking stall and turn itself on???" He thought about it for a second or two, then said, "oh yeah, wonder how it knows that" :rofl2: |

2. You seem oblivious to the concept of inflation. My particular Z saw a 1.5% price increase over the 2012. That's under year over year inflation (1.9%). You're getting awfully worked up over a (negotiable) ~$600 increase on a $40k car. Consumer goods experience price increase without "upgrades" (i.e., a gallon of milk). 3. The Z is still highly competitive to the Gen Coupe - even with the Hyundai's "vast improvements" it's still slower than the Z. If you ask me, Hyundai took a handsome design and ruined it with boi-racer hood scoops and a garish grille. The Gen Coupe's interior is now at least a step above Elantra quality. 4. I never cross-shopped the Z to the Camaro, regardless of stats. Also, see #3 re: interior design/quality. Z to Camaro is apples to oranges. 5. Yes, I would define your tone as "hate" - you just don't realize how much you sound like that 'Buddy' character you were bickering with. Please explain why you saw the 2013 model year as do-or-die for Nissan to radically alter their low-volume sports coupe. A five year lifespan with subtle changes is not out of the norm. Unlike Apple, there isn't going to be a "all-new" model every couple years - this isn't an iPhone, it's a car. Sent from my SGSII using Tapatalk 2 |

1. The comparisons to these cars aren't direct. My main issue is the Z should have upgrades that create the same kind of attention. This upgrade won't do it. 2. I am going on step further and test driving this car tomorrow. I'm not misinformed. I have studied enough pictures to know that I am not satisfied with this cars new look. But the proof will be in the pudding tomorrow. 3. Inflation. Uh huh. Point is, other cars are not rising as quickly with more upgrades annually. I still prefer a Z as a car. Even with the current dislikes. But I'm seeing flaws in a lot of areas with progression. I don't hate the new Z because nothing has changed. But in my opinion, nissan and hyundai both fked up the front. I love the Z as a whole and I still applaud the new owners for supporting our car. That's all there is. Nissan has gone reverse with a lot of cars. The G35 to G37 is another example. But I owned them both. Don't get all hurt. |

Do I like it.....no, but that is the reality of our world. Due diligence before the sale, plus using the competition can yield a fairly good price. You're welcome to read my post in the Introduction section, titled 2013 On Order (my price is there). I feel like I got a great deal and really enjoy my 2013Z. Thanks for all the info you guys post here  |

I hope the euro shocks feel good? We'll see. As far as inflation goes. I understand that, but the least they could have done was tuned the ECU for 10hp and redesigned the midpipe for more aggressive exhaust note. That doesn't cost much. Its about staying competitive to a point where reviewers can't bash the car. Something that's been goin on too long. |
Unknown, Would like to know your opinion on the difference in the shocks. Test drove a 12 before buying, but had no other Z to compare it with at that time and too long ago for me to remember.
Yup, agree with you on the tuning of the ecu and better exhaust note. Small incremental steps is always good. |
