But I do thank the 13 and future 14 purchasers for the sacrifice and keeping the Z name alive. Everyone who contributes to purchasing one may may possibly be helping the next gen Z to be a better car??? For that I will give all Z owners love.
I am sure if i understand your dollar value comment. Most cars are getting more expensive every year, MSRP wise. It's hard to get a new camry LE for under 20k without rebates nowadays. The msrp of the IS350 went from 36k to 39k since 2006. Are they loosing their dollar value?

And i thought we are just taking about looks here.

I just don't see where a base + sport can be justifiable at $39570 msrp. To me a Z base sport at the most would be worth 38k. And that price still pushes limits. I paid 37k otd. I know these Z won't see the same kind of price breaks.
Its still an awesome car, but not a compelling financial value. Like it used to be.

Camry's etc go up because they keep technologically advancing every 2 years or so. The Z hasn't budged much in 5 model years.
The most significant upgrades have been, oil cooler and upgraded nav screen (if u buy it). Little things like heated mirrors, in cabin filter and upgraded shocks happened in 11: all of this is simple crap for a car company. I expect more for an average of $800-900 a year increase.

Unknown, I understand how you feel. This car is not cheap. Please keep in mind that inflation in the last 10 years have grown at an average rate of 3%. 2011 US official figures was 3.7%. Taking a $30,000 commodity, 3% would equal $900. Add in a weakening dollar, and Nissan's price increase is not out of the norm.

Do I like it.....no, but that is the reality of our world.

Due diligence before the sale, plus using the competition can yield a fairly good price. You're welcome to read my post in the Introduction section, titled 2013 On Order (my price is there). I feel like I got a great deal and really enjoy my 2013Z. Thanks for all the info you guys post here

Congrats on your ride. There's one dealer in my area giving $4000 markdowns on a 2013: everyone else has them @ msrp. I am test driving to demystify the euro shocks. I need to feel the difference from my current shocks. I also had an 09 Z and honestly I prefered that over my 11 shocks. My 11 is more compliant but my 09 was more aggressive. I don't mind harsh ride for more performance feel.
I hope the euro shocks feel good? We'll see. As far as inflation goes. I understand that, but the least they could have done was tuned the ECU for 10hp and redesigned the midpipe for more aggressive exhaust note. That doesn't cost much. Its about staying competitive to a point where reviewers can't bash the car. Something that's been goin on too long.

lol... Thats pretty funny. My Z should be paid off for the 2014 model year. I'm hoping to add the Z35 to compliment the Z34 in 2015.

I understand you now but just to throw out there, the new Z base + sport is around 36K MSRP, not 39K like you said. Touring + Sport is 39K MSRP.

I just built one bruh... go back and try it. The touring non-sport is 39k. and your wrong cuz a fully loaded Z in 11 was 37.1k. im counting all accessories and auto trans. we have to look at the highest possible price. Anyone can strip a car down and say look its not that expensive.
Dude, be happy with your purchase, it's just my overall opinion. No big deal. Like i said, the Z holds dear to my heart. My gripe isnt on people who buy the new Z's. I dont think i own the better car. Im just upset cuz nissan never can give more bang for buck past the first 2 model years and they are cashing in on late bloomers. I think that strategy slows down progress and is bad for the company overall.... They been this way since the Z31 and they don't learn.

I'm glad you guys are buying Z's regardless, cuz in the overall. they are still excellent cars. And you guys are still Z brothers no matter what the front looks like or the cost.

Dude, I am happy with my purchase. I have a 09 6TM fully loaded (sport + touring + nav). But again, I don't think the new Z is ugly as people make it look like. And yes, I understand you are upset because Nissan keeps increasing the price without improving the car as they should.

You are right about the price. I was only looking at one with manual transmission and without shipping cost.

I'm more upset they weren't competitive in how they refreshed the Z. A bunch of short-cuts. There were decent progressions over the years, nothing to write home about. but decent, though not reflecting the increases. 2013 was a time for nissan to step to the plate. Sports cars haven't been since competitive sine the 89-98 import wars. Not a time for half-assed refreshes. That's what i'm really upset about.
