Spent the last 256 miles trying to see what mpg i could get driving like my mother. I'm at 25.4 in 61% highway driving (yes, I calculated that too)

Thanks to those of you who have provided constructive suggestions or information. It's not that I'm so concerned with the mpg that I'm not enjoying the car, the car is awesome! I just have a reasonable concern based on a reasonable expectation set by the manufacturer and their estimates. Clearly other people have the same concern otherwise they wouldn't be responding with their results or tracking their mpg. That being said, I do believe it has some to do with the break-in period. The onboard computer is now showing 18.3 after about 1,300 miles of 70% city/30% highway.

the onboard computer isn't always so accurate. I usually calculate my mileage myself based off of gallons pumped and miles travelled since last fill-up. Some times it's spot on but more often than not, it skews high .5-1 mpg for me. I still get 20-22 in mixed driving based off of my own calculations though.

I get about 13.4 mpg.:ughdance: Guess that means i should slow down.:driving:

Their tests are basically done with no factors. No hills, no wind resistance, and no tire resistance. Basically they drive it on a Dyno and those are their numbers. If you live in a hilly area, your gas mileage will be lower then us that live in flat areas. This also has to do with lack of torque and needing to rev a little more since the cars stutter a bit under 2500 so its hard to granny shift as it is lol.

I too once got 17.4 during break in. I have never seen that high mileage again driving the same roads since. If you want good gas mileage, I think you should have reconsidered the purchase. But you will have a good time.
