It's your car....if you want to, go for it!

cc370z 08-09-2012 11:04 PM

Just go for it. It just peels off if you don't like it.

Glokwork 08-10-2012 12:25 AM

It can be done and made to look good. If you go through with it definitely buy a kit with a sprayer from dipyourcar.com

I know I have read at least two members here have done the whole car and one ended up with a ton of over spray on his neighbors house.

There are tons of threads on plastidip on here!

Plastidip won't harm your clear coat?

christian370z 08-10-2012 02:21 AM

Some people have had their actual base paint come off when they removed a plastic dip coating they had applied (very few), and it can become very difficult to remove in some cases likely due to errors in prep work. But those are all limited and I think that matte white actual looks good, especially from those dipyourcar tutorials.

Looks really really good... my concern is not being able to wash it without beating up the dip and it leaving any sort of clearcoat eating residue... pretty sure that the clear and paint are supposed to be able to breathe. I think even clearbras have microscopic pores.

I think i'll just go with it and do it.
I'll post pictures as soon as i do it
