The language is being debased. What is today called "drifting," after the Fast-and-Furious series corruption of the language, is really a power slide. It's inefficient and slow and hard on rear tires.

i just turn in brappppp stand on it. dont hit anything. slam gear and keep driving

I've been getting into drifting. Definitely way more cost effective to have a second set of cheapo wheels and tires. :driving:

I'd recommend getting some stiff swaybars to make it easyier. I personally didn't feel confortable when the rear end came out on my 370Z till I got my Eibach sways. Now I can pitch out the rear end without worrying too much.
Also, if you can afford it, get a better rear end that locks quicker. My posi-traction vette was just awesome to pitch sideways and just hold the RPMs at 5500-6000 until you're speed caught up to the tire spin. Needed a little finness since there was no rev limiter on that one. |

Would stiffer springs help in the same way that a stiffer swaybar would?

The Z is very unforgiving with drifting... I started out with some lighter power slides into corners, and after a couple years in it I finally feel comfortable putting her sideways. It's fun but the tires don't last so long lol.

LOL "it feels like VLSD is not doing what it should..." duh.
Don't forget to install the Yaw Sensor Power Switch to completely disable the traction control. Your car will still be tapping the brakes on one side or the other if you don't. |

Outside of the starting video in this post, I personally find that after about 5 minutes of watching drifting I'm ready to check out. I find it rather boring if it's just non stop sliding.
Drifting= The fastest way thru a set of tires & the slowest way around a track. $.02 |
Thank you for resurrecting a Minsu thread. It brings back fond memories.
Minsu - wherever you are I hope that you figured out what the dragging noise was under your car, didn't run into anything else, got a fair deal on insurance, are not running 50 psi in your tires, and not getting speeding tickets from drifting after you got used to driving stick and figured out the clutch in the Z. Happy drifting. |
