Need Convincing Advice

I'm a newly licensed driver and I am looking for a car.

I need to be able to convince my parents that 370z is a good choice over the Toyota Avalon, Lexus IS, Mercedes C-Class, and BMW 328i.

These vehicles are within the 30 to 40 grand range so there shouldn't be any price issues. I'll be test driving each vehicle.

Any ideas? :)

Show them you can drive it responsibly and that the maintenance/repair cost is lower on the Z than most of the others, save the toyota.

This is true. My GF was giving me crap for a while before I got my Z, for that exact reason lol.

That's a great idea. I just hope that I might be able to obtain maintenance prices for each of the vehicles though. Like for BMW there's this BMW Ultimate Service™, first 4 years $0 maintenance but that doesn't mean it's cheaper than the Z in terms of maintenance prices. I'll have to find accurate maintenance costs.

@whoady4shoady
If you don't have a suggestion then please don't post.

I've been able to get 25-32mpg @70-85mph if I pay attention (manual shift 7AT). I average about 16-19mpg while driving pretty hard.

Tell them you absolutely do not want the Z.. Tell them it reminds you of the past when they were kids ...and they certainly did not know how to have fun.

.Tell them it reminds you of something they would drive as a kid that it is far too slow in pickup and top end...Tell them most hot women would never want to go out with a guy with such a car..

Then stand back and try not to smile as they demand you get either an automatic or a stick ...

I wonder if I can achieve 32 mph on the highway.

I followed Kaien's advice

I got such prices using calculators and build a vehicle demos.

These are all estimates however. Also, does anyone know where I can get long term test results for the 370z?

I do appreciate the serious answers.

why do you care about gas mileage? Why dont you actually get a car you can afford instead of swiping your parents Chevron gas card.
