The new 2013 Bumper...Vs the 09-12 HELP!!!!!!!
 

So the 370z community is 50/50 on this and you guess it
the 2013 new face lift vs the 2012 and under...
Why they took out the fangs? Im sure its so people know its different....
I liked the Fangs.... You think we can replace the OEM from 09-12 for the 13???
If you heard of such sorcery please do tell...I cant find a 2012 Pearl White Sports Packaged 6MT Anywhere in Jersey.....Or even NY as a matter a fact... Koeppal Nissan had one...for 42k Da Fq?
Need your help...Im reluctant to get the 2013 one due to the face lift....

I think the wheels bug me more on the '13 than the lack of fangs/LED strip

Seems to be a shortage in your area, I'd look a little out of your bubble if you really want a 2012, I'm sure there are some deals to be had if u are willing to go the distance

I hate the new face and wheels.

i think the face lift is geared toward fitting in with the general look of sports/luxury cars (audi, lexus, porsche, mb, and other random cars) especially the LED strip addition. losing the fangs could be an attempt to lose the aggressive look to attract more buyers with the addition of LED strip.

now the 370z would def be mistaken for a porsche from a distance :rolleyes:

My biggest gripe with how the 350 looked was the dumb light strips in the bumpers. Just looks silly imo. I was really psyched that the 370 dropped them and went out and bought it!

BeksNice, no worries on what 09-12 owners think. They do have beautiful cars and they really love them. So if they feel theirs are so much nicer than our future 13's, I'm not going to disagree with them, it is a matter of personal taste.

As for saying hate or ugly, definitely not words I would choose in describing someone else's car, but if that's their vocabulary, it is what it is.

One of the few things we agree on. Those front LED's... yuk.

Nissan didn't take out the fangs, it's only been redesigned. It's still there if you look closely.

That's good that you like the fangs. Maybe you should've written a letter to Nissan protesting the minor change. I'm quite certain the 2009-12 bumper would fit on the 2013 body.


The 350Z was in production for 6 model years (2003-08). I believe from 2006-08, Nissan changed a few things including the wheels, front bumper, tail lights, and hood. I suppose the reason they did this was to keep the 350Z looking fresh while buying time until the 370Z's production release. So one would imagine something similar w/ the 370Z; the 2009-12 all have a similar look, then they refreshed a few things for the 2013 minor change model. Nissan just wants to keep the 370Z looking fresh until they can release whatever sucessor they have in the works.

While I don't think the Fangs are the highlight of our Z's design. Once blacked out, the Z looks insane. Blackout out fangs give the Z an amazingly aggressive look. The subtle fang with 350z design queue overlay looks weak and mainstream generic on the refresh. Adding the lights gave it the hue of germaposer. Especially since germaphile LED lighting is 6 years running strong... that's something chevy or ford would do... push styles after the fact. The hyundaiesque copying done by nissan is a step down from the original Z34 design...

I have high hopes for the 13 NISMO though.
