Whats the longest road trip you have had in the Z?

In a bit less than two weeks I will be driving from Los Angeles area to Dallas, TX for quakecon (1400 miles).

I was curious what the longest road trips others have had in their Z?

w0rM 07-18-2012 09:36 PM

Quakecon! Sweet!

Sadly the longest trip my Z has ever made is like 20 miles... but it's still just a baby.

Zenki370 07-18-2012 09:41 PM

Longest Ive done is about 300 miles. Was perfectly fine. Didnt feel the need to stretch after getting out. Got there fairly quickly too, all highway... hmmm and 26.8mpg

m4a1mustang 07-18-2012 09:44 PM

1,000 miles. Very comfortable.

Sounds good! I hope to make it out there in less than 30 hours if I can. We shall see.

I think so far the longest road trip I have done in my Z is from Ontario, CA to chuckwalla valley raceway right on the border of California (200 miles I think?).

LakeShow 07-18-2012 10:54 PM

200miles.

mayday813 07-18-2012 11:15 PM

1,400 miles. Entertaining vehicle to drive.

KaienZ34 07-18-2012 11:25 PM

1000+ miles to the dragon, on the dragon, on hell bender and the skyway then 1000+ miles back.

nepali 07-18-2012 11:26 PM

About 400 miles...and it was not tiring at all.

KaienZ34 07-18-2012 11:34 PM

I would have driven your nismo at any point if you wanted. ;):driving:

EazyD 07-19-2012 12:31 AM

You long-distance people.... anybody with non-touring? I find these cloth seats make my legs tired very quickly. Maybe it's because I have long legs.

Jerggy13 07-19-2012 12:37 AM

St. Louis, MO to Atlantic City, NJ....~950 miles.

Easy and comfortable

Footloose301 07-19-2012 01:02 AM

1400 miles each way. From South Florida to Upstate NY last August.

djpathfinder 07-19-2012 01:02 AM

800 miles in my 40th Anniversary. Twice. Comfortable.

Ajobie 07-19-2012 01:18 AM

took a trip from albuquerque up to oregon to visit my brother, at roughly 1,500 miles each way. It was a fun trip and I enjoyed the drive

brucelidat 07-19-2012 01:53 AM

LA to vegas. Don't remember it being particularly uncomfortable, but I have been getting uncomfortable lately driving home from work (often 1hr+). I wonder if it's due to sitting all day at work before the drive home.

NuffZed 07-19-2012 02:27 AM

I just completed a 700 mile trip through the mountains with mine. Lots of fun top down, sun shining beautiful driving except for one crazy-eye deer. Luckily for me he was hunting Nismos only... ;)

houkouonchi 07-19-2012 02:40 AM

Google lists two routes I can take. One is via the I-10 and interstate 20 E. It goes through Albuquerque, NM and Amarillo, TX and the other one takes me through Phoenix and Odessa, TX.

Both are the same distance (+/- 10 miles) and show only a 10 minute difference. I don't think traffic will be a problem as likely not during normal hours when i go through the bigger towns. Any oppinions on which is the more interesting drive?

If anyone is curious exactly which routes I am looking at just go to maps.google.com and put in for start: Ontario, CA and destination Dallas, TX.

Me and ron did the run in his nismo, which have cloth seats no problems for me.

Atlanta to Elkhart Lake Wisconsin, 2 days on track at Road America then home, 900 miles each way.

danegrey 07-19-2012 08:56 AM

I've done Atlanta to Dayton OH on several occasions about 500 miles...
Its a pure joy to drive the car.....
Lately couple times a month go from Atlanta to Ft Bragg, NC weekly for work and its about 400 miles... Just great to drive the car

christian370z 07-19-2012 02:35 PM

LA to San Diego is the furthest trip I've done, nothing compared to some of you guy's trips! But with traffic, it was a 5 hour ordeal. The Z is very comfortable and while it can get a little tiresome having to work the 6mt in constant heavy traffic at times, it is a great long distance car.

Holy crap.

Mine was about 700 miles. The Z is a kickin cruiser. Superbly comfy for the full drive.

red6spd 07-19-2012 03:34 PM

800+ Miles. Long Island NY to ZDayZ.

I did a Baton Rouge, LA to Denver, CO run in my Z... have also been to Atlanta and back in it. Nice ride but the car does get smaller after the first 12 hours of driving.

blue tape FTW! (when my car was a virgin!)

Gauge 07-19-2012 04:56 PM

From madison to chicago. Unlike many here the stiff ride got to me after the first hour. For me the car isn't that enjoyable in cruise control mode. It's definately not the worst car I've driven for cruising, but there are a lot better cars for this task.

Some ricers on the way made it interesting though :)

Kenny 07-19-2012 06:35 PM

Los Angeles, CA to Scottsdale, AZ - 762 miles

Pretty comfortable.

Had a chance to hit 150 mph.

PaulZ370 07-19-2012 06:46 PM

 I only put 8k miles on mine since early 09.

blackcherry20 07-19-2012 07:01 PM

90 mi. Rond trip to work on twisty turny country roads, sometimes 4 days a week! Yay me!

SailFree 07-20-2012 11:13 AM

500 miles one way, 200 miles random driving through old stomping grounds in middle Ohio, and then 500 miles back, in one day. Less fatigue than in any auto I've ever owned. Very comfortable seats, precise handling, and enough power to get out of any problems.

Seems clear that we like what we like, and that some statistical superiority of another car in some car magazine doesn't sway us much. Seems much like the subjectivity in deciding who is the most beautiful or sexiest movie actress or Playboy Playmate. Each to his own.

enkei2k 07-20-2012 11:57 AM

~20 miles. From NYC -> Jersey Gardens NJ LOL.
