Which car would you pick?

Hey guys ive been lurking around these forums learning as much as possible about the 370z and now i have the money to get one , now its the hard part i know the 370 is a 2 seater but how many of you guys came from a 4 door sedan to a 2 seater? im thinking about the switch and how will i deal with just driving 1 person with me. I have a couple cars in mind to look at before i buy any car , and i would like your guys advice or tips on the 370 or any of these cars
1.Evo x
2.Bmw 335i
3.Mustang 5.0
4.370z

Did anyone have any of these cars switching to the Z? Please share your experince
this would probably be my DD so all input would be appreciated.:happydance:

A personal decision on 2 vs 4. I do not mind much at all.

These were all our car choices too, and most of us chose the 370Z.

^^^^ agreed..

m4a1mustang 07-18-2012 10:21 AM

It's a Z forum so I think the overwhelming response will be option 4. That's my choice, too, since you did take the time to register. :)

kenchan 07-18-2012 10:23 AM

for me the 370Z is my personal space. i dont need 3 extra seats.

Slavo22 07-18-2012 10:33 AM

yeah guys i knew u guys would go for the z it would be like me going on 335i forums and asking what car should i get the 370 or 335 and we all know they would say the 335i , its just i feel the 335i is more the bang for your buck with a tune and exhaust and intake u can have 400 at the wheels , and i know u have to do alot to the z to have those numbers am i right? Which other cars were your options and what made you guys go with the Z?

tonybui 07-18-2012 10:33 AM

Since you are already driving an M3 and Lancer, you should look at BMW 335i or 370z

EazyD 07-18-2012 10:43 AM

Don't know what you want in a car..

bigdog1250 07-18-2012 10:44 AM

Yes the 335i will make more power with an exhaust and tune... but you'll still be driving a 335i. The Z is a lot rarer, a lot sexier, and is a great package for the money!

I'd rather have a 135i than a 335.

Go drive them all and your gut will tell you which one to choose. The Z is a much different beast then the ones you listed.

Z-Girl 12 07-18-2012 10:44 AM

I came from a list of sport sedans...lastly the G35S sedan. I loved that car...I thought it would be a difficult transition but nope. I very rarely used all 4 seats when I had the sedan, sure the extra space was nice when traveling as I pack alot of junk. But the Z has proven to be spacious enuff for me and all my crap. I do find that I use my trunk space (what of it there is:)) alot more since I don't have a back seat to toss stuff in but I don't mind at all. The Z is a blast to toss around.

:iagree: besides... i have my 12 altima for that.

FlawlessZ 07-18-2012 10:55 AM

I've always owned coupes not 2 seater but it was'nt an easy decision for me. Its been two months and I don't regret anything one bit! The main factor, the 370 is not played out!

Evo is kinda slow ;)

Mustang and 335 = 6 out of 10 girls in LA own one. lol

wat are you going to do with 12 altima's? start a rental car place? :ugh2:

;)

NickTurnon 07-18-2012 11:03 AM

If you bought a 370z sports package with all the bells and whistles 30-33k.
335i is at least 40-45k..

You lose out on two small seats if you decide to get the coupe. & You also dont get the nav knob that BMWs come with.

BUT, with 5-6 grand you can get a single turbo or twin turbo setup for a little more and easily get over 400. Even 450.

Just a thought!

Vertigo 07-18-2012 11:07 AM

4
2
1
3

would be my order.

6MT 07-18-2012 11:18 AM

Time for a poll!

AKI370z 07-18-2012 11:22 AM

I owned a 335i, and now I own a 370z.
335i is probably the most unreliable car I ever driven, and was traded in for my Z.

2 Hpfp failed, water pump failed, squeaky brakes, random codes appearing then disappearing, and dead battery. This was all under 35k Miles.
If you have cash for repairs then go ahead and buy the 335i. After warranty is done the 335i will devalue even more. a BMW battery is $500 for replacement and last only 3 years.

Here are 5 reason to get a 370z over a 335i.

1: Reliability
2: Better Gas Mileage
3: 19'' Rays VS Ugly BMW 17'' wheels.
4: Faster Stock for Stock
5: More Rare: all 3 series have the same body style unless your buying an m3.

edub370 07-18-2012 11:30 AM

Evo X interior will make u punch yourself in the face. 335's are great, but as stated above, they are notrious for HPFP and injector probs, the 5.0's are great cars and dont really have much bad to say about them other than u will probably see 5 between your home and work. 370z's are a great all around car.
my chouce

1)370z
2)5.0
3)335
4)
5)
6)
7)
...
...
56) evo x

You can take a cab whenever you want, or rent a car with more space.

its basic transportation for me and the wife to get around a-hole. my z is for fun.

speedfreek 07-18-2012 11:55 AM

^^^^He was only making a joke on the '12 for 12...

OP, out of what you listed obviously I would choose a Z. But the '13 5.0 would get a serious look. In the end I would still choose the Z.

Evofusion 07-18-2012 12:03 PM

1. 370z
2. 5.0 (how many people have left the z for a 5.0 in this forum? :stirthepot:)
3. 335
4. not the evo

I have the Z for just me. Otherwise I have my Altima or the wife's car if we need to go somewhere with the kid.

UNKNOWN_370 07-18-2012 12:29 PM

i'm not sure why you guys are dismissing the potential of the evo. cover the interior in alcantara and carbon fiber and call it a day. Evo's are hella fun.

slavo- so you getting the Z then?

OK.

/thread

brucelidat 07-18-2012 12:40 PM

If your goal is purely power and speed, then the Z is not your choice. If you want a sexy (subjective but all of us here agree), fun 2 door sports car feel with not the most, but still plenty of grunt, get the Z. Your price range seems pretty broad, though with that BMW in there.

brucelidat 07-18-2012 12:42 PM

btw if you have the cash for a 335, you can boost the Z and have it all!

thats exactly what im looking for reliablty , better gas mileage and its rare especially with the Montrey Blue looks amazing but for the 335i my Dads best friend is a Service Manager at Bmw and he always takes care of my maintence on the m3 and my clutch recently was slipping and needed a new one and got a clutch from germany and installed for $1,000 when just the labor alone costs $1,500 for the new clutch so im not worried about that i know hed take care of me and the 335i , I just love the Z lookz mean , it has a vicious lsd with the sport package :D i test drove a z like a week ago and oh boy i fell in loveee :owned::driving:

Yeah that is my goal as well has having a car that i can tastefully modify myself and make it my own project and being able to afford performance parts for it , and reliablity is a must for me because it will be my DD. Hows the Z straight line speed? i drove it but dealer would not let me punch it , and i noticed like the clutch when its engaged in first gear it likes to jump out like really fasttt maybe im just use to my m3?

fun to drive, not a pleasant place to sit tho. most people dont wanna buy a car and immediately have to redo the interior to make it acceptable. and the evo interior is AWFUL

Red__Zed 07-18-2012 12:49 PM

When faced with the same decision, I picked the 370z, at least the first time.

At the end of the day, it comes down to what you want from the car. Every car on that list is very different. Get behind the wheel, and see what speaks to you.

The evo interior is whack its the same thing as my 2008 lancer gts , which is plasticky and feeels very cheap inside except my navi is amazinngg lol

kenchan 07-18-2012 12:50 PM

not only that, evo's reminds me of taxi's back in the days when they were MT.

brucelidat 07-18-2012 12:54 PM

If you already have an m3, you're set for speed. So get the one you enjoy the most or like the most emotionally. Which one make so go 'ooh' and drool rather just saying 'hey, those specs on the sheet are great'. Whenever I walk to my car after work, I always think how awesome it looks. That is priceless and better than being a little faster, especially if you already have other fast cars.

Yes, yes it's got plenty of straight line speed! Especially if you do a few bolt-on mods.

With more than enough grunt and those sexy lines, you can't go wrong!

Z for life!

Mt Tam I am 07-18-2012 01:37 PM

The fact that the OP has an M3 and is considering a Mustang speaks volumes about the new 'Stang's.
