Nice flooring. Do the tiles get secured to the floor with some sort of glue like standard tiles, or does the material itself keep them from moving around?

The floor floats. It is VERY durable. After a long drive and hot underbody, it does nothing to the plastic and I can peel out in the garage and the tiles don't move or get damaged at all.

They lock together kind of like wood laminate although you have to use a rubber mallet to make them lock.

I just finished the first step of my garage today. The second is tomorrow afternoon and I'll update the thread then.

All man-caves should be laundry free!

StLRedrider 06-20-2009 04:01 PM

I'm not proud of mine, under construction.

SlikNik 06-20-2009 04:13 PM

Don't know if I would trust the wife with the laundry around the back end of the Z

Other than that you have a sweet garage

FuszNissan 06-20-2009 04:14 PM

Where did you get your tile from?

510z 06-20-2009 04:27 PM

Ive been wanting to do an epoxy flooring in my garage. But seeing as how I bought a forclosure in Phoenix it is not very high on the list of home improvements.

I agree. But, I live in a old house that has the laundry out in the garage. Guess I have to deal with a bit of female crap in the man cave.

The wife knows to stay away from car with the laundry baskets. It's hard to see from the pictures, but there is plenty of room from the washing machines. She is trained well. She refuses to even drive it she is so scared of curbing it or taking the mirrors off (she took them off in my 4runner backing out of garage).

Floor Junkies - Garage Floor Tiles

They are local to me, but delivers all over the US. They have BY FAR the best prices among that type of flooring. They are around 1.79 per sq ft, when everyone else is at 4.00-5.00 sq ft. Also have free shipping on most size garages.

They have a floor designer also somewhere on that site.

That looks fantastic.

FricFrac 06-21-2009 12:09 AM

I just moved into a new house and my garage is not picture worthy. I've got a really nice polished concrete floor but its full of pinball and arcade machines and all my spare parts. There is a 370Z sized hole that is filled with my 370Z when I'm at home ;) I just built the roof on my 12x16 shed so that will give me somewhere to move stuff around.... one day I'll reclaim the garage and have half of it for my arcade machines and the rest for the Z and my work bench in the back....

Not sure what type of wifes you have but my wife is more cautious about the car than I am.

Here's mine. Still need to lay down Racedeck tiles, but I'm stuck on the pattern and colors. Other than that, all I need is to paint the workbenches and hang a TV in the corner so I don't have to choose between football and screwing around in the garage.

Thread necro FTW! :icon17:

My garage flooring was put in by the previous home owner - it's either really crappy paint or a poor prep job or a combination of the two :ugh2: Started peeling almost immediately, and 3.5 years later looks like this around each wheel :shakes head:

here is a quick shot i just took of mine. simple and empty but pretty much a clean slate with some potential. This spring im at least going to get the floor done in like dark gray epoxy with metal flake this year i had to replace my garage doors and ended up getting custom powder coated black ones

It does the trick for now. I was going to buy a lift but I think I'll save it for my next garage.
