my bad, somehow skipped that. either way still FP RED FTW. and if you can run pump with that boost then great job with the tuning.

on the other note my issue with the X still stands. NEW chassis, NEW engine. all previous evos had same chassis and engine. they just kept evolving into better performing machines. body was a minor change before.

There's been MANY chassis changes since the beginning. The ONLY major difference between the X and the rest is the engine. Which, BTW, is fairing VERY well.

I sure do miss my red :shakes head:

mitsubishi designed a nice engine. however the engine is really the only upgrade.
Jspec evo 9's have the active yaw control that the X has over here.

so if your brought an evo 9 from over there to here the 9 would spank the X even harder on track.

Fail.

I'm really sick of correcting people that post idiotic misinformation. This is how people get dumber. Please stop.

correct me if im wrong but didnt the 370z get a better time on the top gear track then the evo x?

if thats the case then i would consider the z an evo killer. straight line racing doesnt count, anyone can press the gas pedal on the car and go straight.

Unless, your 92oct is like race gas in disguise even so running those kind of numbers on a stock motor with 92octane will put much stress on the internals and well it should've blown sometime ago. What evo's are you talking about that run 30psi on straight octane all the time I would like to know because I haven't heard of any. If you were on race gas it would be more believable.

Don't know what your implying here but i seen this guy go to a gas station and put normal 92 pump. he doesnt want to drive all the way in downtown just to get some 100 oct..

Not to be a buzzkill - but the Evo X runs EXTREMELY rich from the factory... X + cobb AP = goodbye Z lol... however - the Z still is much more fun / involved to drive and I would never go back to computer aided AWD ... its a little worse than a video game imo lol

but that doesnt really answer my question.

does the evo x get a better time on the top gear track then the 370z?

stock vs stock

No, the Z beat it by .72 seconds (which could have easily been in the Evo's favor if they would've launched it).

Tony (isn't salty at all)

your just taking him too seriously.

shabarivas 07-29-2009 09:27 PM

Lol... dude you cant seriously argue w/ me about this... I have owned both the cars hahaha... honestly even leaving the bad launch aside - the MR would have probably made up that time w/ the shifting... so lets call it even on that front... Spend 2k on that car and it will be in the 1:23 range easily... Im just saying you are underestimating it... and stock vs stock does not mean jack...

ct63084 07-30-2009 09:31 AM

Shabarivas is right Mitsubishi jacked up on the factory tune on the Evo X, sucks that i have to fork up 400 dollars to get my car tuned the way it was suppose to be tuned in the factory. Avg EVO X dyno at about 220-240, with a stock tune i've seen evo x jump up to 284 awhp.
I say this if you want sexy great looking and a nice performing sports car out of the box get the 370z, but mod for mod there's only a few cars that can match the potential of the evo x specially this new e-85 tune GST motorsports are doing a with basic bolt ons and a 950cc injectors i've seen a evox get 364 awhp 360wtq and that was their first e85 tune on the X with a couple more months of r&d I won't be surpise if they get more HP out of those tune.

BTW i saw my first 370z on the road today, damn those things looks so sexy must be a chick magnet, compare to my **** magnet evo x.

dlmartin81 07-30-2009 10:22 AM

Ok, so the Evo X has a crappy tune out of the box. Well, if you've read any of the journals here (semtex's, DannyGT's, RCZ's, DDM, TravisJB, to name a few) you'll find that the Z has a very restrictive exhaust/air flow. DDM's only had the HFC + CBE from BERK and it made 312whp. I forget what the baseline was but I'm sure it was around the low to mid 170s (correcty me if I'm wrong DDM). So that's like a 35-40whp gain....just from the headers back.

I'm not nockin the EVO. That was my other consideration, believe me. I just happened to pick the Z over the EVO for it's looks and the better bang for the buck. Sport package Z comes with soo many nice features as we all know by now.

Ryan@Forged 07-30-2009 10:38 AM

I love 370z's, but I own 2 Evo's so this is an interesting topic for me.

Care to put that name of yours to a friendly exhibition around the track? ;)
