Not to mention the chassis on the X is way stiffer. These cars are heavier but extremely nimble on the track. Although heavier...the Evo X was a huge improvement over the IX performance wise. As mod friendly the 4G63 is...the 4B11 has proven to be even more responsive to modifications...its just plain wrong how fast you can make that car!!!! btw...i race a Subaru, so I had to swallow my pride to make that statement :eekdance:

X's Horsepower numbers doesn't always prove that it's better or faster then the Evo 8 or 9's. Yes the evo X makes nice numbers on the dyno but, it's nowhere as raw in performance as the 8 or 9's. A X and 9 with a fp red turbo the 9 ran somewhere in the 9's while the X ran high 10's both with similar mods and race gas. Ask any Evo owners which one is the raw performer they will tell you the same. I know because I used to own one with 400awhp.

sorry...i have to disagree with you. For the last 2 years, I've been the sales/marketing director for Robispec...we specialized in Evo's. We've built these cars from ground up...I'm speaking from a track perspective where everything as a whole is measured...power and handling. I've seen it first hand, and driven them both on the track. Hands down...Mitsubishi hit the nail on the head with the X. Don't get me wrong...it took me a while to warm up to the X because I liked the 8 and 9's more...but once I drove them on track and saw the lap times these things can do, I was convinced.

The X might perform slightly better on the track, but the 8 and 9's has the best 1/4 and handles more boost stock. I don't think you need to be a pro to drive the X's because Mitsubishi engineered it so well it practically drives itself. It's pretty hard to get those things loose.

This is true but u you gotta understand the 4g63 has been out since like forever and everyone knows what they are capable of and most tuners like GST has been working on this engines on DSM's for years before the evo8 and 9 came out here in the states. Compare to the 4b11 which is has been only out for two years is just barely scratching its potential most tuners are just starting to learn the true potential of the 4b11 so far it's fairing well and in some cases better than the 4g63. So the jury is still out on this one we won't know how much more potential 4b11 is capable of till a couple of years from now.

Remember when Mitsu announce that their using the 4b11 everyone started having a heart attack i know cause i was one of those guys "i don't want an aluminum engine" but so far the 4b11 has proved me wrong and surprising me on how much power this engines can crank out.

The 370Z's are nice cars but i went with the EVO cause they are easier to mod. I like to have the GO!!!:driving:
