I got $2000 for my 2006 350z without any negotiation at all (similar damages but I did have an airbag deploy). I asked for $1500 and the guy said "how about $2000 instead?". I knew I made a mistake right away.

I asked for 5k which is the maximum allowed in the state of maryland. Verdict is still out.
