So the last problem is turning out to be a head scratcher. Anyone with ideas please post in here:

Didn't want to continue the discussion here because it's a pretty specific question that needs expert attention. Unfortunately, I am not an expert but I'm hoping that a few of you might be.

The f'ing thing literally ran broadside into me while I was actively trying to avoid it going ~45mph. Seriously, it takes a special kind of ******* animal to time its suicide charge perfectly enough to keep me from seeing it until the last possible second and manage to hit ME and not the other way around. Point of initial impact: driver's side fender.

Flatbed driver says I'm lucky it didn't flip feet first into the windshield or my day might have been a lot shittier. Note the pretty Adams glaze sheen.

Better shot of the point of impact. I saved the Z emblem off of the blinker lamp. Girlfriend took the shot - I think I was still off on the side of the road screaming and throwing things at that point.

Look at that shine :(

Oh yeah and the fucker had to go and destroy my door panel and rear quarterpanel as well.

The assailant (after the cop dragged it off the road). May she rot in deer hell. Literally too stupid to live.

Figured I'd start my own thread to keep the other 4th of july guy's thread intact. Fun things I learned:

-Police are actually sympathetic and will let you drink your beer intended for your 4th of july BBQ on the side of the road if it's over 100 degrees outside and your brand new car is smashed.

-The Nissan Cube has a much nicer stock stereo than then Z. Like...a lot nicer.

-The Nissan Cube is literally a turd on wheels. My coworker took a picture of it but I don't know where it went. It's sitting outside right now but I can't be bothered to go out there to photograph it. It's poop-brown, very square, unstable, and sounds like a lawnmower when you step on the gas. Leave it at that.

I'm LOL-ing SOOOOO hard right now, sorry your car got fúcked, but your hatred for the deer is hilarious, lol
Could you have kept the deer to eat?
And yeah, the Nissan Cube is THE WORST car I have EVER driven... SUCH A POS

I could have. There was a guy in a panel van who stopped by to eyeball the deer but drove off when I started to walk over. The cop that showed up just dragged it over to the curb.

I would snap off anybodys arm if I saw them trying to hurt a deer or hunt one

She needs a bath, dash treatment and a glaze but I need to wait a while before I attempt to wax/glaze due to the new paint (or so I'm told). With this heat I'm figuring 14 days will probably be long enough.

Does this mean no more fun w dead deer jokes?!:icon17:

dmhenderson 08-02-2012 05:50 PM

Actually searched long and hard for a fighter jet "deer" hash mark decal that I could stick inside the car somewhere but couldn't find one.

Sorta like a no smoking sign only with a deer.

dmhenderson 08-02-2012 05:51 PM

Also dead deer jokes are fine. I think the whole situation was pretty funny now that it's over

NuffZed 08-02-2012 07:40 PM

I'm glad to see she's right as rain man. I hope you get to enjoy the summer better now

So the epilogue to this story is:

You cannot claim diminished value on a comprehensive claim. Diminished value is covered under the language of your collision coverage and requires there to be an "at fault" party. As the deer was not carrying insurance and is not in a position to have her wages garnished at this point, I'm SOL (just for future reference)

You may think you are SOL.. but not compared to the deer...

NO! Say it isn't so. The CUBE lives on. We are the latest victims of being forced to operate this ugly box on wheels :shakes head: I make my Fiance drive it, and park it in the garage so it's not seen in front of our house. Our 2010 roadster had a pressure switch fail in the hydraulic top. Due to an engineering disaster of design, the entire hydraulic system needed to be replaced as a complete unit. That was originally about $4,000 in parts plus labor. Then, the "master" technician broke a part on our top during reassembly, and now we are having our entire top replaced to the tune of $15,800 compliments of Nissan. The poor girl only has 7,000 miles on the odometer and we're blessed with driving this silver box for a month, complete with a round carpeted floor buffing pad on the dash that the service advisor told us was good for holding your pipe

dmhenderson 01-19-2013 05:00 PM

At least it's not brown.

It's a decent place to put your cell phone as long as you're not taking corners too fast. Then again if you're taking corners too fast, it might tip over sooo...

bbquest 01-19-2013 06:12 PM

We decided to make the most out of the spacious interior. My Fiance has carpet burn on her forhead now :icon18:

dmhenderson 01-19-2013 06:40 PM

Boning in rental cars = gross.

That's hilarious! Where do these car companies come up with these moronic ideas? To bad they didn't give you a Nissan Joke instead of that shoebox on wheels.

dmhenderson 01-20-2013 10:04 AM

No see, they can sell the juke. Why would they give you one of those?
