Thanks  |
I can understand your concern cause i am paranoid at times as well. Not so much about the weight of the techs but how they handle my car. Things like if they are using the mounting points correctly especially when i have after market side skirts that are lower than stock.
Another thing that bugs me is when the techs do not put a sheet of paper (dont know what the proper term is) on the seat when they they are wearing their filty work uniforms. Will i be annoyed? Yes. Will i complain? No. Luckily for me my friend works at the dealership i go to so i can always make a request to have him work on it. Not everyone have the skill or experience to change the oil themselves, eventhough it is not hard to do so. I go to the dealer cause its only 10 mins away and they only charge about 10 bucks for the service since i bring my own oil and filter. Not to mention i am lazy :P Oh another thing that irks me is when the guy on the counter tells me their ester oil is better and it will void my warrently if i use other brand of oil |
Are the 10-30 seconds to readjust your seat back that big of deal?
As long as they take care of the car, which I'm sure they will, who cares? |

I hate others driving my car as well but, tough. If somebody is working on my car they need to drive it to see if it cured. Not on an oil change except in and out of the bay.
A cigarette wielding 400 pound fellow is where I would leave. Smoking is unacceptable in my vehicile. |

Um seating adjustment beef? Lol that is one of the oddest and funniest things I've heard on this forum, I would have given you a sideways look as well. So what's your decided upon resolution? Drive to NY, put more miles on the car for a different dealer or learn how to do it yourself? Btw, I don't know how asking for the GT-R mechanic is going to go down at the shop, they could outright say no because you don't have a GT-R, I mean if it was as easy as asking for the GT-R mechanic I'm sure the guy with the Versa would want the special tech as well. Learn how to change the oil yourself, at least that way you'll feel gratified and know the job was done right instead of biting fingernails worrying over seat angles in the dealer waiting room.

I do most work myself but when I do have the dealer service my car I tell them thanks for the offer, but I don't want them to wash the car afterwards. I don't trust them to do that part. It's not like they have their $60 per hour certified mechanics as lot boys and I figure that's where the damage or monkey business is going to occur.
