No way to get the sport package brakes without paying substantially for it...

You are looking somewhere around 1k for the calipers/rotors/lines/pads used.

How were you misled by the sales rep???

Face 06-19-2012 11:07 PM

Brakes are one of, if not THE most important feature on a car. God forbid you drop some coin on a decent upgrade.

If all you want is a little bling, someone on here did a really great job sanding and painting their stock base model calipers and they looked great. Super glossy, and even added some decals. They're not giant like the sport kit, but they looked nice.

If I were you, I'd save a little more and do it the right way.

Jordo! 06-19-2012 11:23 PM

Even the sport package brakes kind of suck without better pads and SS lines... sorry, but decent brakes for big wheels will cost some coin...

Face 06-19-2012 11:28 PM

By the sound of it, I don't think the OP is gonna be hitting the track on any regular basis. For DDing, the sport brakes are pretty friggin great. I avoided a nasty t-bone with 'em. Nearly kissed my steering wheel from the stopping power. I'm just glad no one was following too close behind.

ZSIZZLE 06-19-2012 11:57 PM

i have worked at a car dealership for 13 years and it boggles my mind how the op could possibly blame the dealership for not knowing his car doesn't have the sports package!! The car has different rims, different brakes, plus the the other features like syncro rev matching & limited slip!! If you were told the car had bluetooth and it didn't i could understand that or heated seats or something minor like that!! the sports package is $3030, how do you not know if you paid for that or if it wasn't on your window sticker!?!

OP probably got suckered or he didn't do his homework. When I bought my Z from the dealership, I pretended to not know anything as I listened to the salesman lay down his pitch. The car was pretty much sold, I just never let on that I knew more about the car than he did. Playing stupid and being coy about purchasing made negotiating easier.

Anyhow.. a sucker is born every minute. What's the real crime here? Separating a sucker from his money or letting him keep it? I like the title of this thread, "Mislead by stupid sales rep..." LOL :roflpuke2:

dude… I'm from Canada and Toronto :icon17:

I feel sorry for the OP for not knowing his Z does not have the sports pack… but… it's a $4k option... and how could you not seeing it missing on the order paper??? :ugh2:

speedfreek 06-20-2012 09:50 AM

I was misled too!!! I was told I would have 550rwhp and a TT setup. To my dismay when I popped the hood when I got home and there was only just some measly 3.7 V6 pushing about 270hp to the rear wheels. I was dooped. Touche Nissan..touche!

Oh wait this is about brakes. Please tell me more how you wanted the BBK but didn't notice you didn't have the Sport Rays wheels....

FairladyZ 06-20-2012 10:07 AM

Damn how do you sign papers and realize after that your car didn't have the brake kit lol.

You should change the thread title. It should be " I DIDNT KNOW SHIEeeET ABOUT THE Z and misled myself !!!!"

Yeah. Did he sell you $2K worth of brakes?

Cmike2780 06-20-2012 10:08 AM

I can see a sales rep misleading him. They know crap about the cars they sell. It's too little too late, but the OP should have done the research on what he was buying. It's not that farfetched if you've never really seen or compared the two.

Dude simply put, he didn't do research. Probably didn't even know the brake kit existed until after he was sold the car.

red6spd 06-20-2012 10:24 AM

Why are you guys still commenting. He has not responded back to any thing we have written.

The OP has been complaining/whining about this multiple times in this forum, don't know why he still have to bring it up month after he has picked up the Z

Maybe he thought the BBK n Rays come as standard…… well yea… please do some research before purchase… ask questions and read through the order paper…… :driving:
