Test drive 2012 MY11 370z 0-60 5.9s

I had a test drive today, it really a nice car. However, I tested 0-60 twice. The results are 5.9s and 5.7s. How come many 370z owner claimed they can do it within 5? Maybe my launch skill is not good enough but yea, just a ask. Thanks.

Thus reason #953 to buy a vehicle with 0 miles on it.

There are lots of variables with 0-60 times, as well as with your method of measurement.

The other thing to keep in mind that is that magazines post times with rollout.

This.

Factors include:
1) Rollout
2) TIRES. TIRES. TIRES.
3) Driver skill
4) Weather
5) Fuel quality, oil change status, etc.

The Car/Driver infopanel (vs Cayman S) showed a 13.7 @ 103 quartermile, with a 5.2 0-60. Many members on this site do better than that, although they do it at VHT-prepped dragstrips and with tires better than the stock 'stones.

If it makes you feel any better - count off "one-thou"... that's the difference. 0-60 has lost it's appeal as a performance measurement. The real money's in the trap speed, everything else is too variable

I see you are in Australia. I have to assume being on the bottom of the planet is effecting your traction a bit. Sorry, not much you can do besides move to a civilized, northern hemishpere-style country. :(

Well this is your answer. Literally all of these reasons is why your time was so slow. I have a 12 nismo and i got a 4.5 stock with minimal tire prep.
