PDR techs (including me) laugh at that. lol

I had a 98 accord that got caught in golfball sized hail. AFter the storm looked like someone had taken a sledge hammer to all the body panels lol. Had to basically have an entirely new body put on the car. Thank you insurance haha

Same thing happened to my 350, had an F4 tornado about 15 miles from my apartment and there were no garages. Z took a beating, new hood, 90% new paint and the plastic panels above the door, not sure what they are called exactly were shattered. It was around 2g in damages since they doors, hatch, roof and glass all took a beating too. The only good thing was when it was all done, car looked better then new! Good luck and hopefully it gets repaired quickly, It hurt to see the car as beat up as it was and it took nearly a month to get it repaired. Research body shops before you make a decision, it was a pain, but I went to one that was not on the insurances companies list but I knew their work was not only warranted, but they were one of the best shops in the area.

sorry to hear. :( PDR should fix it. the aluminum hood is going to be a biotch to push but if the dent is small enough it should be fine.

also they wont pull it unless it's inaccessible from behind the panel. it's a lot easier to push it from behind vs pulling it. :) GL

Thanks for the advice ken. :)

This thread reminds me of that BMW dealership in TX that lost a few BMWs to a hail storm..

My car doesn't look nowhere close to that. From 10ft away it doesn't even look damaged.

Sorry to hear, OP! :(

Great thing about PWs is dents are not very apparent at first glance.

I had substantial amount of dents on my hood and across the natural lines of the hood, which I was told would've been a betch to repair with/via PDR because of the lines. Hope your hail damage isn't anywhere near the lines :/

I also had - well, still have :facepalm - a couple of dents on my roof but they're small enough that they aren't very noticeable.

GL with everything and lmk if you have any questions.

Thank goodness it wasn't worse.....did you see all those cars on the news that got completely demolished? GL with repairs.....time for a new CF hood? lol. Luckily over here in frisco we didn't get anything tonight.

Most storms skip Plano/Allen/McKinney so I've been very fortunate this week :ugh2:

Well last thing i needed to end a perfect vacation was first day back to get my car hailed on......Hawaii only helps make certain things better..... hail damage destroying my car is not one of them.....lol

sexZness 06-14-2012 12:58 AM

Lol welcome back bro :hello:

Man I feel your pain. :( Sounds like you have little enough damage for paintless dent repair. My friend's car got hit bad and they made it look like new.

Our area of town had a huge hail storm pass through last year. SO many cars got totaled and used cars because in short supply soon afterward. Our old accord was one of the cars that was totaled. Ironically, our Camry, which was in the shop for transmission issues, was completely fine since the shop moved it in. If ONLY that was totaled too, we could've just taken the money and gotten another car.

Gungrave 06-14-2012 03:58 AM

Sorry to hear man. I have a few dings on my Z from debri from semi's, small spots from bugs (got majority of those out), and worst of all is tree sap apparently ate through some of my paint so I have a few small whitish spots on the car :/ 3 or 4 of them actually ate through the clear coat too. Piss off I am :(

So side note if anyone knows how to get my paint back to virtually flawless I would greatly appreciate it :)

You I'm in the GP-arlington-mansfield area and storms always run really close to me but just miss me... go figure. This time around I wasn't so fortunate. But at least my dents aren't on the creases and the dents are pretty smooth. I'm hoping they all pop out???

It hailed golfballs on my 08/altima once and it didn't get a nick. When you have fun transportation vs ur baby/project car. Expect all bad things to hit it. When I saw those 2 gencoupes smash up and I barely missed it... I knew my car would be blemished soon, somehow some way.
