I'm also running the Gen3 intakes with the 12" res FI CBE. Love the sound on downshifts! :driving:
I was wondering what the sound difference would be if I took my car back to Tony's shop and added the Long Tube Headers? Has anyone heard the sound difference in person?
I also need to keep the sound at or below 93.0 dBA @ 50ft, the noise restrictions for my local autocross events. :ugh2:

-EDIT- Oh, and I'm on Swift springs and the ground clearance has not been an issue. Like others have said, just take it slow when you see dips or bumps. The lowest point is at the bottom of the canisters, but Tony said he has gotten it 5/8" higher than stock.

Why did you opt for 12" resonators instead of 18"?

Huck 06-29-2012 06:39 PM

The 12" ones are just a tad louder :driving:

Very nice! Can you PLEASE tell me where you got your black emblems and door handles from? If you got them painted, what paint code did you use?

I just made a video to try to help people out with making the decision of whether you like the sound or not. This is the non res'd CBE with carbon fiber cans. I took the video with my iPhone. I actually borrowed a friends Zoom "hi def" sound recorder, and my iPhone ended up sounding better lol. The iPhone just picked up a little more of the treble, high pitched sounds that you don't really hear when you hear it in person, but overall it was pretty good.

No, it should be the opposite. You feel more torque at higher rpm especially on a incline.

Huck 07-10-2012 01:29 PM

I wouldn't call it a lot, but I do notice a difference, especially mid to high rpms. After I put my headers in on Monday, I'll set up an appointment to have my car Uprev'd and then I'll see what she's pushin'.

The Uprev tune is the only thing I haven't done to my G35 coupe. I am curious how much of a difference it will bring to the mods. Keep us posted Huck!
