Default 370z question (09)

I found an amazing deal on an 09 z with 17k miles. as I am in between meeting I'd figure I'd ask the general question about how much has been improved since 09. From what I've read its only been minor tweaks and nothing major. I'm talking about a 6mt base package btw. Hope u guys can shed some light for me but if not I'll Google it when I get home.
Cheers!

The 2009 to 2011 nothing much changed, 2012 had oil cooler introduced as well as the wheel lock mechanism removed/reworked whatever.

As far as I know that's all she wrote.

i don't think much really just little things. except maybe the oil cooler..
but iv'e heard it could have been better...

imho i will say usually with the first year of a major model change as the 09
was you will have some kinks to iron out but with the 09 i didn't see that.
nissan got it right everywhere except as i stated the oil cooler. oh and the
funky gas gage...........

Be sure to check if the car has any warranty remaining.

I heard some '09 models may have the ECU whine problem. Mine doesn't though, fwiw.

A lot of later years also came with the backup camera linked into the mirror at my local dealerships as a dealer installed option, which was really expensive.

2013 has the front facia refresh, the wheel update which should save 1-2 lbs per wheel I read somewhere, red brake calipers, a reflector where our black fog light cover is, black gas gauge, and stiffer springs (Euro GT spec) in the sport models. No update to the oil cooler added in 2012.

Mid 2010 they (apparently) solved the oil consumption problem... you should still be warrantied under powertrain though.

i recommend you check the steering lock threads in the DIY section, verify which lock you got, and disable it if it's a revA or revB. other then that, i dont think there's much improvement 2010-12 for the base models

I have an 09 with no problems... only the rear hatch shock TSB which Nissan took care of. I was worried about having an 09 at first, but it's just like all of the other ones I have driven... no issues here!

oh yah, one other thing to watch out for... high pitched noise from the ECU. it sounds like a CRT TV when the car is turned on.

some 09's had it, some didn't. luckily mine does not. start the car and listen for it.

Only issue I have with my '09 is the ECU whine... I turn up the radio to solve that.
