I placed my order last night for the cheapie Zoom H1 recorder, hot shoe adaptor, and fuzzy wind screen. I didn't want to invest too much until I get a handle on the whole video/audio processing thing. This should give me a taste. Now I need to order one of those cup holder mount things. Have you received your replacement one yet? |
Quote:
i did receive my replacement. it was better, but still not truely horizontal when i have the recorder in the verticle position. but, i found a good horizontal position, so no more issue with the cocked swivel. the base locks into the cupholder as you torque it in cw, so i can adjust the recorder to lay flat in parallel to the center console. :p since my camera is on the headrest i want to make sure i dont get it in the shot either... so i have it pushed back pretty far towards the passenger seat. ill snap a pict later. :) |
While I was detailing the Z last evening, I saw and heard these young kids racing their suped up VW Golf's, a mustang, and some other odd-ball cars. This was on local residential roads. There's one street that runs perpendicular to mine, but rises/falls depending upon your direction. These kids were racing in the direction that rises. I'm thinking, idiots! There 's a blind spot when you're traveling in the rising direction where the road flattens and you can't see an oncoming car over the horizon of the road. Keep in mind that this a two-way single-lane each way road so one of them was driving on the wrong side of the road. :shakes head:
Eventually, the police came around my neighborhood. The kids (teenagers) had stopped by then. I think that someone in my neighborhood called the cops. Later, I heard another car burning rubber again. I'm pretty confident that it was the Mustang, the older variety -- not the 5.0. However it was still powerful enough. Traditionally on many Thursday's, a parade of exotic/sports/vintage cars travels on a local road that I can see from the back my house. However they don't race. They just showcase themselves for all of the world to admire. They often meet at the local Log Cabin restaurant. It's a cool sight. I guess that the kids picked this day to do their racing because of it being a "car night". |
Good Afternoon Fellas!!!! :tiphat: :tiphat:

im still trying to decide if i want to install the db651 coax or not in my Z. hummmm... im sure it will sound much better but would i want the 6501's later when i swap out the HU...? i already have a pair of like-new dB521's i use to use in my old car in the basement just collecting dust waiting for a garage sale. :icon17: would the 651's end up the same? hummm.... |
errrr.... or just install the 521's until next year when i do swap out the HU and run new wires to the db6501. then this experiment is free. :p
but 5.25 in a 6.5 size will fall in like me trying to wear a size 36. lol where the hell did the speaker go? |
I'm trying to find a pic that was posted in this thread... or maybe it was somewhere else on the forum
Someone just got their headlights done and had the reflector and (I think) the landing strip done in carbon. Do you know what pic I'm talking about? Rep for the person who points me to it. Also, does anyone have one of these: ZSpeed Performance Aluminum Engine Splash Shield 370Z Nissan and how do you like it? Or don't like it? |

Edit: Nevermind! Just saw you have the Nismo bumper. |
Good Thursday! Just a quick drive today. Decent wash and detail so its clean for the weekend. Watching the EURO 2012 games, driving, washing and helping my Audi/VW mechanic friend remove his Ducati 848 motor for rebuild.
His bike only has 13000km's and the crank is probably bad. Just out of warranty, go figure. He is a good young chap who has made my car-guy life here in Germany absolutely amazing and easier than it should be. I hope my assistance will be of use. Should be about 2000euro's for the work. He worships that bike! F1 weekend as well from Valencia Spain. Have a good one :hello: |
Please Help Me Ken-San!
For fear of being put on the ignore list, I respectfully ask for your help.
Right now I am running stock Nismo rims with 10mm spacers. A set of Avante Garde rims is up for sale in Houston in the following sizes: Front = 19x9.5 +18 Rear = 19x11 +20 How do those offsets compare to the stock Nismo rims? I'd like to have the same amount of stance without the spacers; will this offset accomplish that? I know you talked about this before, but I was a deer in the headlights. Thanks in advance. gurney |

Anyone, if I am talking out of my a$$, please rectify the situation :tiphat: *edit* Just noticed the rears are 19x11 (instead of stock nismo 19x10.5). I think this means you should have a pretty similar stance without the spacers. But don't take my word for it, I'm still fairly inexperienced when it comes to all of these wheel and tire details. And btw those wheels are damn sexy! |
Just got word that Honduh is fixing the car under warranty.
Service advisor told me that next time if something like this happens don't touch the car. They said that they could tell that I got into the door to poke around and see if I could fix it. He said Honda is strict and when they inspect the part they would usually deny the warranty claim since the customer tried to mess with it. He said they are just going to say that they did it. |
