im also going to make a quick stop over at the subaru dealer to check out the impreza wagon (non-turbo). and if both :tup2: then, off to the mazda dealer to get the new MS3 in a few weeks as originally planned.

 sounds like a solid plan.

I have started thinking about what the scion replacement will be in a couple years. I don't know what I want. :ugh2:

5.0 (would be awesome next to the Z, not awesome as winter car in Chicago)
Jeep wrangler (horrible MPG FTL, but best winter car prehaps)
Turbo hatch. WRX, MS3, GTI, Cooper S, 500 ABarth.
Or cheap hatch (sonic, base model imprezza, etc.)

Umm, is that really an outhouse? People still have/use those?:icon18:

It is a real outhouse and it's a deluxe 2-seater, don't ya know. It's a good deal, you bet. Like many of the buildings on the property, it is a hold-over from days of yore and it is still functional. There is also a building that used to be the old kitchen -- separate from the main house.

so did you use air hammer/nailer or old skool hammer? :D

Hammer and nails were the ticket and I have no injuries which is actually a minor miracle.

Other than that, yes I love the xD. It's the cheapest car to own by far and still gets about 38-40 mpg.

that's amazing mpg! my G only gets about 11mpg right now. lol :icon17: will fix that by next week hopefully...

yah, actually i have high hopes for the impreza-hatch non turbo. it's a pretty good looking car in stock form which is important cause i dont plan on doing much mods on it. and it being AWD will mean i wont have to spend extra on snow set. i will just use the stock a/s tires and drive slow. at the end, it would be a big cost savings vs getting the MS3.

but then again, the MS3 is probably hells more fun to drive.... since i will be keeping both my Z and G, i think i can go without some fun to save money for my next car after the G.

 nicely executed! i dont usually use a hammer but i was hammering the star washers when i was fixing my Z's driver seat over the weekend to rid the popping noise. :D

 that's probably the "smarter" option. I'm in similar shoes where I might spend less on the dd, just so I can have more $$ for future projects (car and non car related ;) )

yah, that's smart. it's like you gotta control the funds somewhere and to me, i rather not spend too much on a dd where it will be exposed to normal folks who dont give a shitt about cars. :ugh2: especially in snow season i felt like a sitting duck driving my G to work. sure my LM60's did great, but i had more than a few close calls where cars nearly hit me. :eekdance:

the sonic hatch is pretty cool looking, but it has barely any cargo space. since i cant fold down the rear seats (kids) i need a bit bigger hatch...

No kids yet for me  I put sonic on the list because it has a turbo model :happydance:

right now for me, im kinda just looking at hatches that have cargo space at least the size of the Fit or more. mainly to do daily tasks and then when i need to carry my Z or G's wheels for tire swap, seats go down and carry them over to tirerack. :p

Definitely the ones you're considering are all great choice for that
