Brutal repair bill. Glad you walked away.

1969, raining as I crossed a bridge in Bethlehem, PA, and did a 360 in a 427 1968 Corvette. Hit nothing, but was scary.

SPOHN 07-16-2012 03:20 PM

What a hell of a bill. My damage is bad and it's not going to cost half that. But my car is stripped. No airbags or anything. That must make a hugh difference? Besides the airbags what else was a big cost?

VDC_OFF 07-16-2012 03:42 PM

12k?!?!! Screw airbags, get a custom steering wheel, some baller rims and some Bride seats with that money and blow the rest on hookers! Screw the dealership lol

Did you pay 14k or was the the cost for insurance?

TypeOne 07-16-2012 04:49 PM

Damn... those airbags aren't cheap.

SPOHN 07-16-2012 05:25 PM

On Nissans parts list some of the seat cushions are $1700. That's just half the seat.

Sorry to hear about your accident.

not saying it's you. but you've got to be aware of your surroundings and driving
conditions rain etc. and condition of tires. but iv'e seen 370 with brand new tires in a ditch or wrapped around a tree.

common sense has to come into play somewhere... once again not talking about you. but there's been a lot of people who bought these's cars thinking oh isn't it cute. only to end up in a wreck or worse wrapped around a telephone pole...

Light-*** RWD cars: Not just for deer-breakfast anymore.

Should have called the cops and tell them you saw a cat in the road...

I'm surprised I never spun out when I first bought the car and was pushing it EVERYWHERE. I only had one small drift accelerating at a stop in the rain.

dmhenderson 07-16-2012 09:41 PM

My unmodded '09 base was my first RWD and I floored it off a light in the rain and spun 180 degrees (deserted road). Never ever did it again.

Glad you are ok. From my experience, ever since I switched my OEM tires to the Hankook v12 summer tire, I have had no issues with hydroplaning. I live in Miami ans during the summer it pours pretty bad here. I found a new confidence driving in he rain with these tires.
