Usually I try to be courteous at first and just give the person a thumbs up. In most of the instances, they were just trying to catch my attention. Usually, they roll down their windows and say nice car or something along the lines. If the person is just being an ***, I just stay under the speed limit and just ignore them.

When they do that I don't even acknowledge them. Best way to deal with it.

I also have mitsubishis, hondas trying to get me to race, eventually they give up and do their triumphant fly by, I even had an rsx turn his hazards on after he did his fly by :ughdance:
I am not complaining, I knew what I was getting into buying this car :)

I usually ignore them, but for some reason the guy today didn't get the picture. Most of the younger drivers in SD have an ego problem.

Yeap, happens to me too except it's guys in BMWs.

Canadian370Z 06-10-2009 03:41 PM

The only problems I have had is with Mustangs. Once a night on the highway it seems to happen.

shabarivas 06-10-2009 03:44 PM

Hey... dont generalize... I had an evo :( but yea... a lot of "kids" tend to own those cars... just as a lot of kids will own 370s in a few years... just the way **** happens man

This really isn't as bad, imo, as after you've washed your car and the guy in the suv in front of you decides it'd be funny to squirt you with not only his front windshield wipers for a while, but then decides to use his rear window squirters for 10-15 seconds as well. Some people just hate on guys who drive nice cars, i suppose.

Coicidently, a black STI and a black RSX, both tastefully JDM'd did the same thing to me as I drove my 370 fbrand spanking new from the dealership. The STI did his blow-off showboating thing on my right. I gave him the thumbs up.

The best thing to do is to sandbag it by revving and act like you're getting on it. Then let them accelerate like hell so that the cops (if there are any) nail them. I've done this many times, and I had the last laugh.

Isn't this problematic? Don't the cops get on your case as well for revving aggressively at the line?

That's fine. Someday you might get lucky and they pop their motor. When I had the 350Z, some idiot in a Camaro decided to drive through the left turn lane narrowly missing me on the right lane. I slammed the brakes and got behind him (single lane), and he sped off like a mad man. A few seconds later I drove through a plume of smoke, and then I saw the driver and his friend parked on the side of the road with hazards. White smoke was spewing out from the engine bay and inside the car. The hood was up, and both stared at me with a stupid look as I casually drove by.

It's the "little things" that make life worth living, isn't it? :)

Yep should be no surprise as these cars are becoming more and more attainable for the younger generation nowadays

Denver isn't so bad. Subarus and VWs are as common as Hondas in some parts of the country. I see a modded WRX/STi/EVO maybe once a week. People seem to be a lot more responsible on the street then compared to where I grew up in Texas. Every Honda, chromed out Maxima and Grand Prix wants to see me go.

CBRich 06-10-2009 07:11 PM

I felt so inferior on the interstate the other day when an early 90's V6 Camaro was revving on me. I knew he would just blow me away if I got on it.
