6'2" 260 (not fat) no issues. I even came from a Lexus GS430 and I feel fine in the Z. hmmmmmfph

The OP needs to go & really spend some time with the effen seat. I am reading that people are 6'0'' to 6'5'' weighting 190-260lbs & now of them are having any issues. When you are sitting in the Z it is a sports car & is not going to feel like you are in some luxury sedan. Maybe you should go with the Hyundai Genesis. |

OP: I'm not nearly as big as you, but the 370Z seats have pretty broad adjustment. Go back to the dealer and tinker with the seats; you'll find something that works I'm sure. |

it's the unexpected curve balls that make it funny. my kids throw curve balls at me all the time... but those aren't funny... :ugh2: |
Someone asked about the comfort of a Bride seat. I have one in my car, the Brix III I believe, and it is awesomely comfortable. It also holds me in one place very well.

Yeah I'll get a Genesis if you get the Veloster. |
Speaking of Veloster there is a guy with one in my work parking lot that works at starbucks, loud loud loud exhaust on it. Make sure he buys that one.

I just want to clarify some things for OP. the Z is bigger in every category except shoulder room, which probably has to do w/ the bucket seats in the Z being more hugging.
2011 370Z interior: Front Headroom (in.) 38.20 Front Legroom (in.) 42.90 Front Shoulder Room (in.) 54.40 Front Hip Room (in.) 54.60 2011 civic Si Coupe Interior: Front Headroom (in.) 37.70 Front Legroom (in.) 42.20 Front Shoulder Room (in.) 55.10 Front Hip Room (in.) 53.20 |
Defective ZMan8 makes a very interesting point here. The only thing that the Z lacks as given was the front shoulder room by .70 inches. Maybe the OP is just in denial about the fact that the Z's seat will work to his height & weight. Maybe the OP isn't complying to try to actually make the seat work with him & to accustomed to the Si seats. The Z's seats will be more fitted to one's body & keeping you in place & is actually a sports car. OP get used to the Z's seat b/c it will keep you nice & tight when making those turns instead of sliding around in your seat.

It's the lack of telescoping wheel.
I come on here asking for suggestions and you think I'm in denial ? I keep going back to the dealership to find a comfortable position. I refuse to give up. The Si seats are great too. It just comes down to whether or not I can live with the Z. That means if I am getting uncomfortable while driving I can't put the seat all the way back to stretch. That's the issue right now I am figuring out on my own for the past day now. It comes down to preference. I now need to make sure I can be comfortable with this car every day. Thanks for everyone's help. Quote:

ngabdala, patience is the virtue my friend. We have no doubt that you will eventually find the best seating position to your liking.

Try this, I am 6'4" 236 pounds, I fit fine but am looking into one of these.

Some advice for the next car purchase...
Some people just won't like the way certain cars feel. The best thing to do is test drive well. Sit in it. Spend time. My first test drive of the Z was like an hour long. Then I went back and took another 45 minute test drive. I test drove every affordable import and domestic sports car out there. A few of them twice. And a couple I rented. Do your research well and threads like this one won't be necessary. |
6 ft 6 in.
6 ft 6 in. 260 lbs here and I fit fine with seat all the way back
and steering wheel all the way up. |
the problem with head room has to do with the length of your torso. that's why some guys that are 6'4" fit fine with a helmet, whereas i have a 1 finger gap between my head and the headliner at 6'2" with no helmet on (which means i'm screwed if i want to go to the track).
the z sits relatively low compared to most modern cars but i still consider it a high chair. my '92 acura integra's stock seat height sits just a few inches off the floor. my legs were practically straight. when i sat in my friend's nsx, that car was the definition of low seating to me. i felt like i was on the floor and it was great. there was actually more headroom than in the z. It also has what looks to be a bigger cabin space since its dash doesn't protrude out nearly as much as it does in the z. i find this incredible considering how small the nsx is compared to the size of our modern cars that are basically big, fat heavy cows. this picture should justify what i'm saying: https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...85529012_o.jpg keep in mind that 350z next to it is lowered. i think the only modern car that actually sits low, aside from supercars, is the lotus |

I'm 6'2'' 215. But I'm old and have a bad back and my main gripe isn't with leg room, it's with the narrow-a** seats. I find the seats to be very confining and they lack adjustments akin to BMW sport seats like adjustable side bolsters and thigh extenders. |
6'5" 265 lbs (not fat), 36 in waist, 52 chest....I fit fine in the car overall but the seats make my legs go numb after a while from the hip flexor down to knees...would love to find more comfortable seats to swap out with stock ones. Always would be nice to get another inch or so in height and legs too, but not the priority...more about the comfort and no more numbness on trips to the beach.

To contribute to the thread, I may not be the biggest but maybe the heaviest. 6'0" 284lbs, 44 in waist, 54 in chest, and have never turned down a meal in my life. The seats are very comfortable for me. I have the steering wheel tilted up slightly. My seat is moved just about all the way back with a slight recline. It took me a very long time to find the perfect spot but I have taken an 8 hour drive one way with no pain in my legs or back and I'm on the other side of 40.
I was told by the dealer that this is a small mans car before my test drive but after owning a 240z and seeing how much room that small car has, I was determined to make it work, glad I did! |
6' 185 lbs 30 inch waist. No issues at all. Very comfortable.
|
I can wear a helmet in mine and drive just fine. Im 6'2 -6'3 depending on what day it is and weigh in at 195. I have had bigger people than me in the driver seat before and they fit fine too... with a helmet. Hmmm.. you cant ghost ride the Z or lean back and pimp in it. Its a race car not a cadillac.

I will say that it seems easier to drive and be comfortable in a car that has touring

But any recommendations for aftermarket seats that might be more comfortable? or could an interiors shop pull the covers and adjust the padding?
Thanks |
Used to have the 370z Roadster, and those seats were awesome for holding you in, comfort was decent and room was decent.
Now have a 370z coupe with the base seats, you seem to sit higher in them, driving position is not as natural (as many reviewers have said) and well they don't support you in the turns. (I'm 195lbs and 6'1) If I were to choose a pair of aftermarket, it'd be Recaro Sportster CS: http://www.tunerworks.com/products/i...52_01_4443.JPG Honestly best seats I have sat in were ones that come with the Boss mustang (Recaro also) |
