Well to help better direct you, we really need to know what direction you want to go with the car, ie planned mods & stuff you want to change as well as what you want in a stereo & nav what nots. As far as the Bose stereo, I personally feel it's nice on my touring/sport, but there are plenty that will write it off as junk. Maybe it doesn't shake the ground, but it sounds nice to my old ears. Navigation is another area where you can get better units after market, but what do you want it to look like. I skipped nav on mine, because : 1 when I drive it I know where I'm going, & 2: my cell phone does a great job of navigation with 2 way voice directions via Google. (I speak & it speaks turn by turn).
You can save money initially on a base, or you can end up paying a good bit more to get it where you want it. I would suggest reading a lot of the postings in the audio/ video forum & get an idea on what you want the cabin to look like inside & go from there.

Good luck with your decisions.
For the car I would love to make mods from exterior to engine. I won't be tracking it, but I want it to be so that I feel as if it's my own customized car. For navigation, I know you get an open compartment on the dash and I want the navigation to fit there perfectly whether it's OEM or aftermarket. Thanks for your suggestion!

You cannot put in the factory OEM Nav into a non Navi but you can get an aftermarket one.

If the Navi and Bose system are the reason of getting the touring, then why don't you save the money and get aftermarket HU later on.

However, most of the aftermarket HU are integrated with Navi, and so far I know there's no face kit for installing HU/Navi into the cubby, but there are some members did that with DIY, you can search around.

If you are going to mod the Z inside-out, I would suggest you can just get the base model and use the extra money on your mods, however, you may consider the sports package, it is a pretty good deal.

GL on your purchase

If you want your navigation to look OEM, I believe you pretty much have to get the Touring model. The aftermarket nav systems that I'm familiar with are a Pioneer AVIC or comparable head unit. These head units are installed where the radio is located in the Base model (i.e. below the OEM nav or cubby depending on model). Perhaps you could purchase an OEM navigation unit to replace the cubby in the Base model, but I don't recall seeing anyone that has done this. And of course there is always the option of finding someone to fabricate a completely customized OEM-looking replacement for the cubby that holds your choice of aftermarket head unit.

I recommend the sports package if you get a MT. But compare the upgrades to what you want to mod, as you may find yourself replacing parts that you paid extra for (i.e. spoiler, body kit, brakes, etc..). Synchro Rev Match is a pretty cool feature, too - a quick test drive is a good way to check out this feature for yourself.

Thanks that info was really helpful! I don't particularly mind if my Nav looks OEM or not, but I would like a NAV since its rather annoying to constantly look at the phone. I was looking at the AVIC-120BT model and it seems to fit the bill unless theres one that does a better job? I considered the sports package but I really dislike the lip. Is it easy to take it off and can I sell it for a few bucks?
