last week i just wrapped the bottom end of the recorder and stuff it into the cup holder. it worked very well to isolate noise.

it wasn't that hard actually. i would make audio and visual que's by speaking like a bushman very loudly 'TAT TAT TAT!!! TOH TOH TOH!!!' with window down while next to a guy in a convertable at a light. :icon17:

They would def be more affordable than the others you mentioned, if cost is a factor. My set ran about $1800, a very fair price.
