Yeah... might have some issues with the camber and crown of the road surface, too LOL!

I'd just come off the mountain chasing a Ducati and was running down to Robbinsville when a State Trooper going the other way pulled a u-turn and chased us down. I pulled over, and he went by me after the bike.
Hours later, he found me hanging out at COT and gave me one hell of a talking to. Told me the speed he clocked me at, I'd be spending the night with him.
Just then, a call came in on the radio and he had to go. I heard him say his ETA was 35 minutes. Something about living somewhere where the nearest cop is 35 minutes away...
Luckily for me, I didn't bring home an award that trip.

And if you run with Steve, be prepared to drop everything and get in the car to haul off after Audis. Steve has no tolerance for Audis on the dragon.:roflpuke2:

Ryan I wish I got to do some runs with you. You'd have had a lot of fun with me, Lou, and Chris (300ZX).

Dude, I really tried to catch up that day I said I saw y'all heading out by the lodge. I drive really hard(hence blown gasket first day there) and would have loved some company. I didnt get to do any runs w a group:( Only a couple w my neighbor. There is always next year:tup: Although its so crowded during ZDAYZ I almost think its more worth it to get a good group together and head down during some slow weekdays to get runs in. Like a the370z.com dayz, on the low.

I thought it was hilarious how our simultaneous reaction when we saw that Audi drive by was to drop everything and run back to the car. I was chatting with Leslie and I just cut off mid-sentence and ran back to the car. :bowrofl::bowrofl:

I like to run with the fast groups. I tend to follow so I know I am keeping it within reason on the road. When I don't follow and am left to judge for myself sometimes I drive in the grass. Though I contend I took that corner in the grass faster than many do on pavement.

Thank god you are alright. I was like  when I saw the pic. Wow Steve, that was close.

EDIT, I know the pressure of having to lead, hence my performance award.

Your lucky that they selected you for the award. I'd frame it or show it to the next cop that pulls you over. You can show him what speeding really is.

Fire 05-25-2012 09:56 PM

Is there a link to Steve's pic?

Dude, tell me about it! I had to work really hard to save it. I should have had the GoPros running . It would have made for epic video.

I do have the pic on my desk now at work. Reminds me 1) chill the f*ck out and 2) if you do get into **** keep fighting and you can get out of it.

Leading... I never had to do it before until this year. I get stressed out thinking about cops ahead and whether or not I am going fast enough or too fast for everyone else. I have to try to run a pace to strike a balance of safety/fun for everyone.

I'm glad I got to experience it on our Thursday/Friday cruises I lead, though. previously Tooohip led all of our runs but he couldn't make it this year. I now have a greater appreciation for what he did for us in '10 and '11!
