Good morning everyone! Let's make it a great Friday. :hello:

Brought my Z in to the dealer because they have a paintless-dent-removal guy there today to fix my door ding.

I have a question I posted in the Detailing section of the forum re: rock chips, if anyone has advice for me (hint: i don't think I want to try Dr. Colorchip, I'd probably mess it up. 2 rock chips on a white car on the front fender near the headlight)

The dr colorchip looks pretty fool proof from the application vids I have seen.

Dr. Colorchip is fantastic! Reminds me I need to order a kit for the Honda.

But does it look seamless? (as opposed to sanding the entire fender and fixing and clearcoating)

Also, would I use the Dr. Colorchip paint or use the paint pen the dealer gave me? (pearl white car)

It depends on how deep the chip is. In my experience the paint is mixed perfectly, so it matches the factory stuff just right. With light, small chips you can get a seamless repair. With deeper stuff that goes down to the metal... not so much. You can layer it up but you're really just making it so that you don't notice the chip unless you are actively looking for them.

If it's just paint dmg and not an actual scratch on the surface of your bumper as well, just use Dr. Color Chip. I'm actually planning on using my Dr. Colorchip kit tonight on a rather large chip on my front bumper, I'll take pics for you and let you know.

Also, why do car parts have to be so expensive... so much I want to do, so little money I have :'(

The Koni install was smooth as silk with no problems.
