I have nothing but love for Honda. My previous car (4 weeks ago) was a 2008 Civic SI. I loved that car and it was a very practical car to have as a daily driver. I'm sure I'll find my way back into a Honda after the Z is paid off.

Ya hondas are great cars. 98 Accord that I tore up for 8 years as a teenager is still kickin strong in my family.

i got an email from a local honda dealer, the one where I bought my previous Accord..the one i traded in for a Z.

She asked me if I intended to trade in the Accord..and i wrote back saying i had already traded in in for a 370Z because I wanted a sports car.

She wrote back asking if I wanted to trade the Z in for a Civic SI..( Give her credit for trying)

I wrote back saying I would be interested if the Civic had more than 332 Z HP..

She said she would get back to me.:icon18:.Guess she is new..

(save you the trouble of looking it up..its 160..)

A 2012 civic Si is 201hp but point taken.

The current 8th Gen SI is rated @ 201 but it may or may not be as under rated. I'm sure it makes more torque but I preferred the last Gens 8200 rpm redline.

The shifter / clutch operation is phenomenal and for 4 cyl in sounds good in the ^ RPMs. It's a pretty fun car to drive. The main reason not to get one isn't the HP but the FWD.

If SI's power train was dropped in a RWD chassis weighing no more than ~2800lbs could have a lot of potential. Well then again that was basically already done with the S2K it's just too bad they're not made anymore due to the HP wars.

After all that ^^^ STILL NOT 330 HP... excuse me 332
Worse yet. STILL a honda...Lol

Actually I have always bought Honda and Toyota..Civics. Preludes, Camreys, several Accords, a Supra and my wife has a 10 year old Accord with 150,000 miles on it..aside from the usual maintenance we never had a problem with any of them.

Once I find a car company that makes something that i like and doesnt give me any problems, I stick with it. but neither of those companies made a car with the history and reputation of the Z.. So now i am a Nissan buyer and so far so good.

Hahahaaaaa... parts of nyc highways go as low as 35mph. Going fast is 50mph. Glad I moved to texas in that sense. New york everybody on the street is trying to go from 0-40mph in 2 seconds. Lol. You gotta go upstate to have any kinda fun. Maybe some backroads in LI but not too many. Cops on every cornerand cameras everywhere in the state of no rights.

^^^ what he said. When when there's an open highway is filled up with "pools" A.K.A potholes lol. But I still do what I gotta do sometimes. Feels good knowing you're out of law sometimes.

I feel like Honda has become like Toyota. it used to be Toyotas were smoother and quieter, while Hondas were slightly sportier (sportIER, not necessarily sporty). My sister's v6 Accord from 2007 feels pretty good, relatively tight steering and super stiff brakes. My gf's new 2012 Civic coupe feels super numb, though. It's like you're sitting in a moving bubble isolated from the road and world and it almost glides forward with no weight and super soft brakes similar to her older Corolla's. It feels sort of weird. My other sister's CRV has the same feeling to it as well. These days, Honda seems to be the same as Toyota (although the FRS will give Toyota something interesting once again) and Nissan is the sporty brand of practical reliable cars.

On an unrelated not,e the new Kia Optima is surprisingly a decent looking normal car. It might give the Altima and Focus a run for their money in my practical second car rankings.

We have friends in Albany and a place called Malone..but if I lived in the city I would not even own a car..just use the subway...who can stand all that traffic??

theboydiddy 04-11-2012 07:52 PM

I'll pay $10 a gallon BUT I WILL NOT take the train. Take it for a week and let's see how you like. And traffic? What traffic. Aint no traffic in NYC. Go drive in São Paulo, Brasil and then you'll see what "traffic" really is.

201hp from a recycled TSX 2.4L requiring the same premium gas as a Z, but with the torque of a wooden cart drawn by a team of hamsters.
