i wish i had the time to travel to some of those. maybe i can catch one if it comes to florida or texas. convincing my wife to let me spend vacation days for something like this though, thats a different story, haha!

Rockcrawler 04-09-2012 11:34 AM

different perspective, while i do love the rarity, (I joke with the ladies, it's like someone else wearing the same hot dress at a party).....

I like the interior even more. I looked at a lot of "competing cars" and its af if the designers checked out when it came time to a nice interior. either cheap plastic/kydex or conflicting design themes or......

At least the Z has an interior worthy of the exterior.

This is a thread i need to show my friend since he doesn't understand. "Dude you should've bought a new Mustang GT. 400hp!" and my response...... "Its a Z........nough said" lol.

Pauly 04-09-2012 12:40 PM

agree with rockcrawler. all other cars have inferior interior lol.

Back in 2003 when the 350z first came out I was one of the first to get my hands on one,it was a rare sight to see one, after a few years with depreciation it was not as rare...same with the 370z,with the model on its 3rd year,I have not seen more then 5 in 3 years and I live in a city with more then 500K people...i dont get mine till thursday however i love the fact that not many people have the same car

i guess when they redesign the Z, sightings of 370's will increase. haha, its like its a UFO or something

And even the GT-R has gotten more face time than the 370z over the years in magazines.

I agree and you are right about the mag face time. Seems like the GTR and Altima gets lots of mag facetime, where as the Z and Max hardly any.... even hardly any with there website only articles...

I do think it's pretty cool how few 370Z's there are around my area, but I wish there were more since it's fun to see others on the road. Plus, with more Z's I would feel safer parking mine in the city.

Gotta love that the interior is actually sporty too. Not trying to insult mustang or camaro owners, but their regular interiors just don't suit a sports car, with less bolstered seats and a plainer looking dash. It's one of the reasons I picked a Z over a Mustang GT.

It makes sense for the GTR to get more mag time publicity than the Z, it is their big thing, world challenging super car. The Altima will get more air time advertising-wise because it is their biggest volume seller. I think it is America's #2 selling car now behind the Camry. If the Altima is getting more mag exposure than the Z, though, that's tough to explain other than maybe because there's a new one coming out. I would only expect to see the Z on enthusiast magazines. Also, I freelance pretty regularly at the ad agency who does Nissan's stuff and I never hear anything about the Z. I think it's too niche and small in terms of sames for them Nissan to throw money at it. The peole who would buy a Z mostly probably already know about.

Well, those specific limitations effect the track-ability of the car. In stock form, it is rather dangerous to take to a race track. And while that may not be a concern for many performance car buyers, it certainly is an issue to some. I'm getting ready to track my car. I've addressed the braking issues and oil heating issues as best I can. I'm hoping not to run into fuel starve on my first time out.

/\ shado, just make sure you top off and have a completely full tank before every session and on street tires, you'll be fine, esp if you are a novice. Annoying problem, but workable.

Despite having listed all the serious shortcomings of this car in an earlier post, my wife and i are very big Z fans and have owned quite a few over the years, however, I am not so blinded by my love for my Z that I don't feel we shouldn't take nissan to task on some very very blatant cost cutting/poor developmental shortcomings with this car. Let's hope the next gen (if there is one) will address them and then some.

I feel exactly the same way kid. Exactly !!!! The same.
That's why I try to make to every single Z meet it happens within 50miles radios

yeah in my area the 370 would be considered a rare bird also.
i might see 2 or 3 in a good week. in an area of about 170,000.

but that' fine with me. iv'e owned both cars a z and a vette
both are head turners. and attract a lot of attention....

best way to judge how much people love these cars is the used car lots
at the dealership. around here you can't find one even if you wanted to by used.

but every lot around here has used mustangs, camaros, etc. and i'm talking about
2010 and 2011

Pauly 04-10-2012 07:28 AM

you got that right, sonic. plenty american used to choose from, and never a used Z!
