Normally I get 21.5 combined city/hwy. I've gotten close to 31 on strictly highway doing about 70 on a 330mi round trip. On a road trip of about 1200mi I got 26.5 doing 85-90 most of the way.

i have no idea how u can get it that high, my avg. MPG 22.2

Pauly 03-28-2012 10:40 AM

good idea. thought about doing it that way but discovered i am very lazy (hence the 7AT) and i guess i should just stand on it. or have by balls continuously busted on my threads lol

Driving her back from New York I got about 27mpg, daily I get about 19.5 with some aggressive driving thrown in sometimes (read: almost all the time).

Sent from my iPizzle using magic and new fangled science stuff.

Much of it can depend on driving habits, I'm the type when the car in front of me speeds up, I stay constant, if I need to speed up, I don't floor it, just slightly increase the throttle. Traffic sometimes may pull a few cars ahead, but that's about it and I gradually catch back up.

Other times they pull ahead just to slow down immediately, if I was maintaining my speed, many times it all equals out and I don't waste the gas by using more throttle, then braking, then throttling again.

I don't really drive my Z on the highway much. I'm averaging 16 in the city. Goes up to 17 or so if I have a little highway mixed in there.

Pauly 03-28-2012 11:12 AM

:iagree: this is exactly how i drive in traffic, and probably why avoiding as much stop and go as possible keeps me from wasting fuel.

Pauly 03-28-2012 11:57 AM

was agreeing with slo, must have posted a bit too late.

Right now I'm on nite shift with little traffic. Ave. 24mpg. On day shift with traffic thrown in lucky to get 21mpg.

A more accurate way to compare what everyone is getting is how many miles someone is able to get out of a full tank.

I used to think this way, but the one in the 370z is pretty spot on so long as you reset it after every fillup.

I still do my own calculation regardless as I do not always reset it.

ages, do you ever use the throttle other than a foot rest? 13mpg, that is awesome bro. a real driver!

Z_ealot 03-28-2012 08:56 PM

personally i've averaged 23.5 mpg all city driving on one tank, but that was with driving like an old granny all over the city and rarely ever going over 2k rpm, as far as highway the longest trip i've been on is a trip from santa ana, CA to kingman, AZ and averaged around 27 mpg going 65 to 70mph most of the way and uphill most of the way at that. second longest round trip i've made is from fullerton, CA down to san diego and averaged around 32 mpg on that trip, definitely better than expected mpg than what nissan estimates it gets :)

Mandingo 03-28-2012 09:18 PM

I average 15-16 mpg because I redline the poor thing at least 5 times per day :driving: and just generally drive like a maniac. A safe maniac :tiphat:
