3.0 turbo z on the way
Infiniti apparently just filed trademarks for the G35h, G22d, and the G30t.
Could this mean a 3.0 turbo Z is on the way? Link: Car and Driver Blog Infiniti Trademarks G35h, G30t, and G22d; Hybrid Likely for 2014, Diesel and Turbo Models Possible |
good find that is definitely a possibility

Sweet! Now I'm gonna be searching for a turbo z from nissan like every day!

Yeah but that might be a fuel economy thing... there is a chance that a 3.0 turbo Z is like the 2.0 turbo Audi where the NA 3.2 is still technically their faster/better platform. Guess we will have to wait and see... wonder why they wouldn't just TT a 3.7... maybe it is a single turbo straight six?
rumor is that the 30T is actually a twin turbo 3.0 that will be used in infiniti's and Nissan's high performance models
It all depends on how much they borrow from mercedes the 22D is a mercedes engine that's already confirmed I think.
Oh man, if this happens, I am going to be tempted to trade-in for one and lose a bunch of money....
So are we looking at a reborn 300zx or will this possibly be a 300Z? Either way I think it would be bad ***. I mean I could see the ads now "the rebirth of a legend, the new 300zx!" Could be cool. Personally though I would have aimed for either a 2.9 liter or 3.2 liter. 290z and 320z have a nice ring to it and the 3.0 has already been done.
this could be interesting!
hopefully, it'll be several more years down the line so I don't feel as bad about trading in my 2011 for it (and if it's after I buy a house, I can get less flak and justify it more)
Well that throws out the theory which says Nissan will keep the turbo on the GTR only. I too thought this was the direction they were heading in.

I can see all the "should I buy now or wait for the 300ZT" threads LMAO!!!!!!!
