I think the seat belt law is a good one which probably isn't enforced enough, i lost a 21 year old cousin in a roll-over awhile back. He suffered serious head injuries, he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. Not to say the seatbelt would have saved his live, it might have gave him a greater chance though.

Now I don't necessarily agree with mandated seat belt use, but I can understand the financial logic behind it. It should be a choice really. If you want to ride without a helmet or seatbelt that's fine, but you should automatically be a DNR and a whole body donor.
You do make a good point with this that I had not considered. My insurance prices are crazy and me and my family are in perfect health and all under 30. The financial logic behind this mandate makes sense but we are allowing a precedent to be set that is a bit scary.

also if your not driving alone and the other person is wearing their seat belt and you arent or vice versa, the person un belted poses a huge risk to the other if they are in an accident, they could easily be killed or hurt badly by the unbelted person flying around in the vehicle, so when you say its only you that can get hurt your wrong unless your driving alone.

A kid that went to my high school was in the back seat of a car wearing a seat belt while another kid in the back wasn't.

The car got in an accident on the interstate and the guy wearing the seatbelt took a knee to the temple from the unrestrained passenger... he eventually died from swelling of his brain.

exactly, this is why there is a law for seat belts, they aren't gonna make a law for seat belts making it mandatory for you to wear your seat belt when there are two or more in the car yet completely okay to not wear it when you are alone, that would just be stupid and hypocritical
