The Z is in a league far above the Genesis. A quick drive in both cars should allow you to confirm this for yourself.
Hyundai has done a great job refining the Genesis, but the dynamic is still quite a ways off from the Z. |
the 2012 Genesis coupes come in either a 2.0 liter turboed engine or a 3.8 v6 right?

I have owned a 350z and GC 3.8. Like others have said the Genesis is a great first try in the rwd car segment. Hyundai has an awesome warranty for the car as well. It's a bit quicker than the earlier 350 too. You can get the r spec model with Brembos for a pretty decent price.
The interior quality on them is lacking however. They are a bit heavy and aren't as nimble. Needless to say that I don't own a 370 yet but I do own a genesis coupe and can say it is a really nice car for the price. But if you can afford a Z I would go for it. The Z has heritage and you can really tell when you drive one. |
The 370Z is pure sex! It is hot, loud, and rough!

Z vs Genesis
Ive sat in a Genesis coupe last fall. Nice car less power and comfy. BUT, it just didnt feel like a sports car. More like an upgraded Pontiac G6 coupe. Nice sporty and see em everywhere. With the Z , you feel it. When the tranny just downshifts, when accelerating, when parked. And you dont see Zs everywhere. That I like. As adaily driver the Genesis is probably more suited. But the Z is ina different iconic class. My 3 cents
