If you crashed dads car I'd expect you'd be on the hook at least for deductible. Dad certainly owes you something. Why not use his own insurance?

Best of luck and I'm sure all will be set straight.

Don't get insurance involved, pay out of pocket...

Just get the car fixed, and know that you have something to give your dad crap about for the rest of your life. No injuries or other parties involved, just a really embarrassing fender bender and some cash out of pocket.

I've only been to the track once, but that's a contorlled legal environment. I spun out a few times going onto turns too hot so I can say I have experience with the car past its limit I guess, but maybe not just at it, haha. I'm not giving any advice though. Plan to hit the track again on the 25th.

all you have to do is just notice every time you wanted to punch it or slide around a turn, and something feels like it's holding you back, you'll see a flashing traction light on the gauge. those are the only real times it kicks in. i got to know the car going to large empty parking lots and jus ripping it up. like the others said, it's a easy car to control with minimal wheel correction.

Just remember this. You don't win anything even if you pass the car in front of you and you have to drive home, that should keep you relatively safe.

True, but that light is often flashing, even when I have full control. So I will ignore the light until it is too late. I still have yet to spin unintentionally though.

Would be interesting to see a VTEC logo on the NISSAN engine cover, LOL.

Regarding the VTEC VDC, I would suggest it is wise to leave it on, you never know what's on the road surface and sometimes it requires more to correct the car than just counter-steer + gas-pedal (from personal experience).

Who knows why did conor1123's dad turn off the VDC, maybe he was like some of us, thinking "Who the heck need VDC, I can counter steer....."

No offense to OP but just saying.

Who knows? :tiphat:

He underestimated how much the VDC actually keeps the car under control and it ended up biting his *** lol.

After all, i'm the one on the forums all day and I learn more and more about my car and what it can do everyday, he doesn't! :P
