You obviously have raced a person with Z who can't drive. If you go race against me or any of the people on this board, we would walk on you easily after 15mph, actually even less than that. Also, my willingness to buy Hyundai over VW shows my awareness that they have improved so much on dependability, quality and reliableness that they are BETTER than VW. It also shows that I am not ignorant like you who only cares about the car brand, instead i care about what the car actually gives me for my money. Thats why for $32,000 I have bought 370z instead of girly looking R32. (lol I believe that R32's nickname is rabbit? LOL)...Rabbit or hare...

Well to answer the original question: No, the 370z has no balls down low. The VR6 has superior low end torque, as does almost every VW in it's respective class. My suggestion would be to buy MK4 generation R32 - considering you like the platform AND the insane power gains people with freshly paid off MK4 R32s that are just beginning to make.

If you like the Hyundai so much why didn't you buy one? For real how old are you? I think I may cry if you call my Rabbit a girls car again. I bet your friend is a real Mario Andretti behind the wheel if your 2wd car that weights the same with only slightly more torque is able to pass his awd at less than 15 mph. Or should I have used Danica Patrick since he drives "girly car"

HP to weight ratio is what wins the day. Low end torque feels nice but it isn't going to win a drag race.

I'm wondering what the G37 guys had to say about the lack of low end punch, and I wonder by now if anyone has improved it.

My exhaust is arriving in a few weeks, and it'll be installed along with the HFCs. Hopefully that'll help a bit on the low end.

Overall, I think throttle response is quite conservative under 3k. I wonder if it has to do with fuel economy since this is the typical driving range?

The new Z may not be the fastest car pre 4000 RPM but above 4K, it's a beast! The acceleration is just amazing and nothing like VQ35DE. I thank the guy who decided to put acceleration lanes before highway - EVERYDAY! :icon17: :driving: oh the sound it makes after 4K = :drool:
