That's ideal imo. Tax return = you overpaid.

Hmm, I am in need of a set of tires. I look at the tax return as an opportunity to get things I need instead of things I "want". Not that I don't want a set of 285/305's or anything, right? I need 'em!

:iagree: the money is better in my pocket than the government's.

Footloose301 01-12-2012 08:56 AM

That's the only way I can save money lol. If the tax season came around and I owed money I would be so screwed. I love getting a fat check and it feels like Xmas.

I just hate giving an interest free loan to the government... :icon17:

Anyone ever donate a car? I'm curious on how much that will get me in a return? They sold the car for $1500 if that helps. I usually only get about 1k back, but I returned to school and donated the car so I'm hoping to get a little more back.

Most people just have their income plus a savings account, fairly quick to calculate.
It is when you get into investments and other income sources that require more tax work.

Just a guess. None of my finances have changed in a few years.

stells370 01-12-2012 09:42 AM

mtaxelson 01-12-2012 09:50 AM

zintoatree 01-22-2012 08:47 AM

Tires, sways, and maybe some swift springs.

mantella87 01-22-2012 09:45 AM

I'm getting drunk off of Ketel One and going to Foxwoods.

I pay taxes. I have not had a refund check in my hands for twenty plus years. Even $600 Bush money was simply a reduction of what I paid.

If I need to spend money on my Z for something I want, I will. I just can not think of anything worthwhile.

I give it fresh rubber every year so what else could she want?

A few pats on the head and kind words.

StLRedrider 01-22-2012 11:39 AM

tires(before zdayz)

My_third_Z 01-22-2012 10:31 PM

I estimated that I'll get about $2k back. I've been planning a high end stereo for awhile. That money will take a little chunk out of the total.

Jasonle 01-22-2012 11:01 PM

Tax money was goin towards rims...but now i got to fix that stupid steering wheel lock thing :(

MJB 01-22-2012 11:36 PM

Well, Uncle Sam took over 12k from me this year, and looks like I'm only getting back around $600:shakes head: (No kids, not married, don't own a home.. blah blah) I might buy a CBE, not sure which one yet.

Or I just may use the money to make a couple extra car payments. Trying to pay off the Z in 12months.

Nurburgr1ng 01-22-2012 11:53 PM

Getting ~3k back this year. fast intentions cbe, wheel alignment, rear valence and roof overlays. rest going to savings

BGTV8 01-23-2012 12:03 AM

Down-Under, we don't have a rich uncle called Sam - we only have a Treasury Secretary named Swan who is all take and no give.

He works for a Prime Minister who can't be trusted to adhere to written agreements and who still expects to get re-elected at the next General Election.

F4rk .....

Alchemy 01-23-2012 12:05 AM

If I have the money for the TT install by when I get the refund, then I'll look into getting some wheels! Hopefully brake upgrades and coilovers before ZdayZ, but that's on another check lol.

Zeuz 01-23-2012 08:24 AM

Hopefully wheels , Uncle Sam better be good to me !:usa:

Pintsize725 01-23-2012 11:17 AM

If I get enough back, I think I'll take some performance driving classes at Driveway Austin. After this weekend, I figured it's better to know how to respond to jackasses driving instead of dying.

enkei2k 01-23-2012 12:02 PM

I'll probably use whatever tax refund I get and put it towards a down payment towards a new Z :)
