i only do one oil change per year so it's hardly worth the fumoto valve.

At first I was clueless and did 5 after 2 years.

I am now going to only do 2, one when i pull the car out of storage and one when I put it away. I know doing the one when I pull it out is not necessary but it's safer i think.

yah, cars these days dont really need so many fluid changes unless it's tracked imho. so yah, twice would be more than enough. i do my change every spring/early summer once a year since i only put 5k miles max every year. :) my Z's at 8400miles since Aug2009. :p

i only follow nissan's maintenance Schedule2. i looked over my 8yr old G's schedule plan last night and it doesn't even recommend brake/diff/MT oil changes at all.

i do the brake fluid and coolant change every 2yrs since i think it's better for the car after the 4th yr. diff and MT fluid... (especially MT fluid) questionable unless it's super stiff or something going into the gates. G did fine even at 2F so i dont care to change it.

btw my G's still shy of 30K miles...

For the coolant changes you do a flush or just drain on refill with new fluid?

i do the drain and fill. nissan recommended on my G (green coolant) that after the 4th year i drain and fill every 2yrs. so ive been doing that. in fact, it's due for a drain and fill this spring. :)

for the Z's coolant it has that blue extended coolant so i dont expect to drain and fill for 6-7yrs.

I didn't realize we had different coolant...learn something new everyday on this forum

EDIT: so when are we suppose to actually flush the system to remove the "scales"

if you use distilled water with the coolant 50/50 mix, you shouldn't have any scales.

should be fine. a quick unscientific way to check for contamination is to remove your radiator cap when cold and check the gasket. if you see white crap on there along with mildew and scum, you probably want to flush it. :icon17:
