I heard they were going to jack it up 4˘ tonight, then another 4˘ in the morning. They are talking $1.50/liter this week for the cheap stuff. That shoud make 94 octane $1.70/liter :shakes head:

I really need to get a tune for 91 octane. :icon14:

I have a 91 octane tune. Havent used it yet, you can switch between dif tunes w uprev. Maybe I should try it sometime. Just fig its better to run 93.

Nice. That's pretty much the same as my MBP. Dual 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM, 250GB HDD and 13.3 display. It's just an awesome notebook as you are well aware.

I took it apart yesterday and found corrosion on the logic board (pic attached). The good news is that I can replace it. The bad news is that a new board will cost $500-700. The price seemed high but when I factored in the dual CPU's and new GPU that's included with it, the price actually seemed kind of fair. The wife has given me her blessing to order it but I honestly feel bad after installing the Koni's ~2 weeks ago.

Good morning all. :tiphat:

Just a quick update --- I replaced the logic board earlier and basked in the joy of my Frankenstein moment. Twas a glorious day.

My Dyno tune was done with 94 octane. I thought it was a good idea until I realized how hard it is to find anywhere outside of my town. I'm trying to get in contact with someone at Uprev, but only get voice mail. They are too busy to return calls... Ugh...

I'm hoping to do uprev in summer with a 94 and 91 tune (and valet)

Around here only Petro Canada has 94, everyone else has 91 max. However with these gas prices, 94 is luxury lol

I spent about 5 minutes in the garage looking at her trying to get up enough gumption to put her on jacks and tackle the sway bar install. Then my phone rang and the moment passed. Alas post work laziness won out and she never made up on jackstands.:shakes head:

happytheman 04-03-2012 10:51 PM

What's it cost to purchase the uprev and an associated installation/tune? $400?

could be that, around here, shop is selling the Uprev for $300 then you maybe have 2 hrs dyno time, so another $300 roughly

oh by the way, didn't forget about u, I took a picture of the the brackets for the rear Shine Auto spats...just need to upload them lol

happytheman 04-03-2012 11:04 PM

Oh cool! I really appreciate that brother! I really need to get a jump on buying 'em to complete my rear end look. How much was paint prep & install if you don't mind my asking?
