I like the GoPro. You might need to make a custom mount, though.

I haven't yet tried this one out, but it should be awesome since it has the external mic input. The Audio Technica Pro24-CM sounds really good and I have a 25 foot extension cable for it so I can mount the camera on the front splitter and the microphone between the exhaust tips. :yum:

nice, mustang. i want to get a camera that mounts to either the rear strut bar or the passenger seat headrest.

any recommendation? :)

I just mount my go pro from the rear windshield. Gives the perfect view. You can see out the windshield, me shifting and even my feet manipulating the pedals

Thanks for the good wishes Mr. onzedge!

cool. so you're just using the suction cup on the glass then?
is the basic go-pro good enough for taking vids and recording interior audio (like wat i can hear of my exhaust, etc) ? :)

alchemy, mustang, is this the camera you're using? Amazon.com: GoPro HD HERO2: Motorsports Edition (2011 Model): Camera & Photo

interesting... I prefer the MS3 over a GTI.. not a VW fan at all... And everytime I drive my friends Mazda it impresses me for the money

hummm... idonno, something about the MS3 lacks it being special (lacks character). GTI has a special feeling... like yah, you're in a hot hatch kinda feel.

Yes to all the above:tup: The sound quality of m4a1's setup will be much better of course. Interior sound shouldnt be a huge prob although it will also pick up the interior road noise as well as the exhaust.

Here is a vid I made last year, the camera is mounted right next to the licence plate. Sound is pretty decent. Wind is a big factor is keeping sound quality. The rear mount def cuts down on wind noise. Skip the first min on the vid to get to the action.

BTW thats my ridiculous driveway at the end. Just imagine what I go thru when it snows. Talk about snow removal
