It is possible.

The manual says no tranny fluid change ever for autos, i wonder if that's really true.

I can't tell you "True" or "False", but when I was driving the Bimmer, its manual says the same thing. I didn't care cos I was driving MT. :icon17:

On another note what mileage would you guys suggest a transmission fluid flush/fill at???

at least you checked it, huh? :D since i only drive my Z on the weekends i need to prop up the hood to unplug the battery manager. i ck oil level every sat/sun that i take her out. i dont need to wipe the dip stick either as it has clear indication of oil level just by pulling the dipstick partially out. no towels to worry about. :D

and i dont plan on doing trans flush for a while on my Z...at least not until she hits 30K.. my G's just shy of 30K and she's on original fluid from the factory 8yrs ago. im thinking about changing to redline later this fall if i feel the need. i would do the rear diff as well.

I usually do not perform a transmission flush on a manual trans.

yah, i dont either. usually by 30K i sell my cars anyways. :icon17:
but it's real easy. it's like doing rear diff oil change.

Pretty good. Quite Orwellian. My wife needed a tissue at one point. I found the mixture of future-esque and yesteryear elements to be interesting. It's worth a matinee.

Oh, and there wasn't a single gay element. :rofl2:

I too planned to do my trans and diff at 30k. Slightly over cause I wanna do it when I install the parts I have here, which I havent got to yet. As for trying the Redline thats what Im gonna do depending on what the dealer says about my grinding issue. Its going in for service on Wednesday.

Im still baffled about how much oil this thing ate. I dont check it near as much as I should but seeing it this low just made checking it a new weekly thing for me.

kenchan 03-24-2012 07:29 PM

alchemy - check if your plug or filter is loose?

yah, i wouldn't worry too much about the tranny oil. :) my G's just shy of 30K and she' still on factory oil from 8yrs ago. no issue shifting even at 2F. i think people over-reach when it comes to changing tranny and diff oil and just do it prematurely.

Just dry-cleaned the Z, put some wax on, now waiting it to dry.

Bought this tonight, tried it on the tires, seems pretty good, have to see how long it'll last.

The Z and me polished/cleaned up a band saw today as we looked out at the rain and said .... Why ????

At least we had some good tunes as the parrots were in great singing form today.
